It's Dining Room time!!!

Our brief: Whimsical Victorian charm

This one's going to be fun 😁
It's been in my head for nearly 2 years but it's only fair to Mark that it makes it onto a visual board.

The ceiling has been restored to its Victorian simplicity with the bare plaster making it even easier to envisage...think dreamy ethereal tones, maximalist wall paper & plush fabrics with a little nod to Victorian parlour.

This is a special room which seems to beckon everyone in with its warmth, calm & the best bird spotting perch in the house.

It's a place we come for peace, for morning lounging, sharing over meals & shaking up a few good cocktails.
In essence, it's a true family room which embraces the turn of every season & all its festivities

It's only taken me 7 months to report in, but WE MADE IT!!

I'm pleased to say that Blighty (and our wonderful family) welcomed us home into the crisp spring March of 2024.

Our little air bnb quickly became our solace amidst the madness.
We savoured almost 3 months there whilst Olivia turned 13 & launched herself into the end of year 8 😵‍💫!!
We hunted for jobs, rearranged our lives & jumped through a million hoops to get ourselves firmly back on the map.

Mark & I got to spend the most amazing few months together scouring the Lincolnshire Countryside living in the surreal present...laughing & crying...often simultaneously....mostly hysterically.
We felt like we visited every village in Lincolnshire, we almost certainly visited a pub in every village in Lincolnshire 😁 🥂

Our container arrived early, we quickly tired of our suitcases & our life was stored in limbo whilst chasing down the house of our dreams...we found her 🥰.
She's a beauty - mid Victorian - 1860.

We've had to re-learn the art of sarcasm, re-master the skill of layering & brush up on our social networking! We're trying not to convert everything into dollars, starting to accept the daily talk of the weather & becoming pros at avoiding potholes ha!

Talking to family and knowing they're within a short drive is divine. Talking to my boy and knowing he's on the other side of the world is heartbreaking....but it's ok, he's coming for Christmas 🥳

So folks, in short: emigrating once is for the brave, emigrating twice is for the down right crazy haha 😜
It's been, and will continue to be, a journey of sheer joy, pain & sacrifice......the raw kind that reminds you that you are well and truly alive and utterly blessed!

I miss you all, I miss our friendships but I hope we can stay in touch

I know, I know…..I’ve been talking about it forever!! But the time is finally now:)
We are heading back to live out our next big adventure in good ‘ol Blighty - yikes !!!
Our house has sold to a beautiful new family & in just a few weeks we are heading over & settling in the beautiful Lincolnshire Countryside.
Our family will all be in reach again, but as with all good things in life there will be sacrifices too. Our son will remain here in Canberra but is looking forward to spending his holidays a bit further afield, and no better place than RAF County 🛩️

The shipping container is in a permanent state of rotation & I’ve realised that my favourite shop furniture has to take a back seat.
I will be advertising these beautiful items exclusively to you guys first with an open sale planned this Sunday 4th Feb
