Well, this was completely unexpected! 😂

My best laid plans took an unexpected U-turn! 🔀

When I closed the doors at my previous location, I had several contingency plans in mind — but I can honestly say that this new address was never one of them! 🗺️

And yet, here we are…

It somehow feels rather fitting that 112 years of an extraordinary button collection should find itself in a new home, right here in our local community. 🏡

The opportunity to keep everything local, while simultaneously enjoying a quieter, semi-retired lifestyle, was simply too good to miss! 🍀

So, I am delighted to announce that The Brighton Button Shop has landed at a new address! 🎉

This is not quite the Brighton Button Shop of old. There will be no frantic rushing about, no ridiculous opening hours and certainly no pretending that I am not semi-retired! 🤣

The hours will be random, relaxed and seasonal — perfectly in harmony with my new lifestyle. 🧶

If you need specialist attention, advice, buttons, wool or perhaps a little help with something particularly fiddly, you are very welcome to call, text or email first. ☎️

I may be semi-retired…
but I haven’t quite managed to retire from buttons. 😉

And if something is important, I shall eventually answer! 😇

Thank you to everyone who has supported The Brighton Button Shop over the years. It seems this rather wonderful old collection has decided that its story isn’t quite finished yet.🪽

🧶Over the past six years, it has been such a joy to share a special knitting journey with Rika. Although she was initially hesitant to begin this project, (we have had many) her beautiful striped cardigan has turned out to be an absolute triumph — vibrant, stylish, youthful and full of personality, just like she is.

What has made this experience truly special has not simply been the knitting itself, but the friendship woven through every stitch — the stories shared, the encouragement along the way, and the many wonderful belly laughs we’ve enjoyed together.
Loyal customers like Rika become part of the heart and soul of my knitting community, and it has been an absolute privilege to have been a part of Rika’s creative journey 🧶🧶🧶
