Sometimes the biggest change comes from rethinking what’s already there.

We switched the chaise to improve the layout and make the room feel more open. Then we added warmth through layered cushions, a generous rug and a soft blanket.

And, of course, the art. Two oversized pieces transformed the blank wall and gave the entire room a stronger sense of scale and personality.

The result is a living room that feels warmer, more balanced and much more considered.

Art doesn’t need to match the sofa or fill every blank wall. It should bring personality, colour and meaning to your home.

Choose one strong piece to create a focal point, group works with a common thread or use contrast to give art more presence.

Most importantly, choose what you love and hang it with intention.

A room can have all the right pieces and still feel unfinished. Here, the final layer was about resolving the space, adding the TV, refining the styling and making the room feel complete rather than simply furnished.

This room balances drama and softness, with its inky dark walls.
When you don't have much natural light, dark walls create a rich backdrop for a pale sofa, sculptural lamps, and a large, bright indigenous artwork. Warm leather and rust accents add depth and comfort, giving the space a polished, intimate feel.

What a transformation!

Our client collects European Old Masters–inspired prints in a mix of Baroque and Rococo-style figurative art.
What other wall colour could we possibly have chosen but Majestic Robe.
This purple is luxurious and elegant and feels quite formal in this deeper, darker tone.

This client appreciates rich colour, history, craftsmanship and interiors with personality. She is comfortable with rooms that feel layered and expressive rather than pared back, and is attracted to pieces that look collected over time. Her taste could be described as eclectic, sophisticated and slightly theatrical — traditional at its core, but with enough confidence to mix periods and introduce unexpected pieces. We LOVE her!
