TESTIMONIAL: Why read testimonials from past clients?

Before inviting someone into your home, investing your hard-earned money, and trusting them with one of the biggest projects of your life, it’s worth hearing from the people who have already been there.

My top 3 reasons testimonials matter:

• They provide real insight into what it’s actually like to work with someone beyond the polished photos and marketing.
• They help build trust by showing how a professional communicates, solves problems, and supports clients throughout the process.
• They often highlight the things you can’t see in a portfolio—how clients felt, whether they were listened to, and if the experience was enjoyable as well as successful.

A beautiful end result is important, but hearing how someone helped clients navigate the journey from overwhelm to excitement can tell you just as much as the finished project itself.

WALNUT: Why I believe rich walnut joinery can be just as sexy as black.

Black joinery will always have its place, but a beautifully detailed walnut finish brings a depth, warmth and sophistication that is hard to beat. It has a way of making a space feel both luxurious and inviting at the same time, adding character without demanding all the attention.

My top 3 reasons to add walnut into your home:

• It instantly adds warmth and richness, creating a more welcoming and layered interior.
• The natural grain brings texture and interest, making even simple joinery feel bespoke and elevated.
• It is timeless. While trends come and go, walnut has remained a favourite in high-end interiors for decades.

The 3 reasons I think people avoid it:

• They worry it will make their home feel dated or too traditional.
• They assume timber tones won’t work with their existing finishes and colour palette.
• They’re afraid it will make a space feel dark or heavy, when in reality, when balanced correctly, it can do exactly the opposite.

The secret is all in the application. Used thoughtfully, walnut can be every bit as striking, dramatic and sophisticated as black—just with a little more soul.

Full disclosure I LOVE them both..

YOU’RE TURN: You deserve to have a home that makes your heart skip a beat because home is where your life happens. It’s where your mornings begin, where your people gather, where memories are made and where you should feel most like yourself.

Your home should feel deeply personal, not like a copy of everyone else’s Pinterest board. It should reflect your story, your lifestyle, your rituals, your taste and the way you want to feel every single day.

And let’s be honest… you also deserve to feel excitement instead of instant panic when someone says “let’s do it at your place this week.” A well designed home doesn’t just look beautiful, it supports the way you live. It feels welcoming, functional, calm and effortless to host in.

The good news? You do not need to know everything before starting. You don’t need to have perfect taste, understand plans or magically know how to pull a cohesive home together alone.

How do you get it?
• Start with clarity before purchases and overwhelm
• Invest in a timeless vision instead of chasing trends
• Create a home around how you actually live and want to feel
• Work with professionals who can translate your ideas into something elevated and cohesive
• Trust the process — the most beautiful homes are layered intentionally over time

The homes that stop people in their tracks are rarely accidental. They are curated with purpose, personality and confidence.

And the best part? You don’t need a mansion for that feeling. You simply need a home designed with intention, emotion and you at the centre of it.

OBSIDIAN FLOW: Project Obsidian Flow is heating up and I am absolutely tickled pink.

This home became a neighbourhood head-turner the moment construction began, but the real magic is what’s happening inside. The interior will be truly bespoke, deeply considered, incredibly elevated and unlike anything else.

Just a few glimpses of the upstairs kitchen, dining and lounge space… and already the vision is coming to life in the most beautiful way.

QUOTE: I think if my home could speak once it’s complete, it would say:

“You’ve got to risk it to get the biscuit… and WOW what a biscuit it is.”

Oh… and probably:

“I think this lady may have a slight obsession with black and white.” 🤍🖤😂

What would your home say???? Please comment.

WEEKENDS: Do you miss getting dolled up on weekends, long lunches, relaxing Sunday drives, family time, and simply enjoying life?

Did you know at least half of my clients reach out when they’re nearing breaking point with their new build or renovation. At first, the thought is “I can do this myself.” Until the design decision fatigue floods in… arguments with loved ones at supplier appointments every weekend… and everything you once loved about creating your dream home starts being sucked out by a never-ending sea of decisions and self doubt.

You start wondering… “Is this even going to look nice at all?”

The truth is, you didn’t study this for years — and there is so much more involved than most people ever realise.

The good news? Help is here.

After working together, many of my clients tell me I became one of the best investments they made during their build. Happy couples returned, laughter came back, weekends were no longer consumed by endless decision making, and the joy of creating their home returned too.

If this sounds like you — or someone you know — reach out to arrange a 15-minute clarity call, and you could be getting dolled up again to enjoy your weekends… just like this stylish pooch.

CARPET TIME: When your amazing clients get so excited over their carpet install that they’re literally rolling around on it like newborn babies… it honestly makes me beam with joy for them.

If you’ve never renovated or built a home before, you probably won’t fully understand why something like carpet day feels so emotional — but every major step deserves to be celebrated. So much happens behind the scenes before this stage. Months of planning, selections, decisions, trust, stress, construction and patience.

So when my clients finally start seeing the last pieces of the puzzle come together after trusting our vision and specifications, the excitement becomes very real… and seeing that joy is one of the best parts of what I do.

These are the moments that make a house begin to feel like home.
