For all the Sony TV fans, listen in. If you are thinking of upgrading your TV soon, now is the time. While Sony have been a leader in the TV manufacturing business and consistently for the last almost 30 years been in the top 3 best quality products.
Those days are finished. Sony have sold 51% of their TV division to TCL. Of all the brands available, I would be suggesting anyone to be buying a TCL TV. Cheap and nasty much?
The remaining stock of properly built Sony TV's are being sold now.
Very soon you won't be able to get a new completely built by Sony TV.
Strangely I recently saw that after 18 years, Sony will be releasing their own made turntable. Funny how things do full circle and the popularity of vinyl records has made Sony reconsider what it's customers want.
Sadly this is unlikely to happen with the TV's. With minority share, Sony will unlikely ever own their product in full again.

20 years ago, I mounted the first 50" Pioneer flat screen TV this side of Parramatta at Harvey Norman Penrith. It was $35,0000 and they sold 1 unit. Similar unit now goes for around $1200.
