A huge well done to the Cunderdin Youth Council for the incredible effort and dedication poured into creating the beautiful and colourful display along Mitchell Street. After spending significant time planning the design themselves, carefully selecting colours, and committing a long weekend to painting, the project has proven to be absolutely worth it.

This initiative was proudly supported by the Department of Communities Youth Engagement Funding and was designed with local young people at the forefront. The purpose of the artwork is to enhances the main walking and cycling route to school, creating a vibrant and welcoming space for students each day.

We are grateful for the collaboration with the concreters for working within our timeline and committing to preserve the quality of our mural as they continue installing the paths. We also extend a major thank you to Artist Tasmin, whose creativity and guidance truly brought the vision to life. While there are still a few final touches to complete and a small section yet to be finished, we are excited to continue building on this momentum very soon. The impact from this project has brought us great joy so far and we hope that the young people who use this space feel encouraged, inspired and motivated every time they pass through it.

A stunning pop of colour to the neighbourhood!

Thanks to the Shire of Cunderdin and all the young artists for bringing this project together 🎨🧑‍🎨

The first ball, made with acrylic paint on canvas, is a re-creation of a friend’s favourite childhood soccer ball ⚽️

For the other one, I used left over house paint on a coaster to create a mini soccer ball. Isn’t it so cute? ⚽️🤏🥹

Cooked up this fiery mix of my friend’s fav things on plywood 🔥🏀

I’d say that’s a slam dunk 🧑‍🎨
