Heteropteryx dilatata in stock now!

Both green and yellow variations are available!

Heteropteryx dilatata or the Giant Jungle Nymph is a large species of stick insect found in Malaysia. The females of this species reach 14-17 cm in body length and can reach up to 65g in weight, placing them amongst the heaviest phasmids (stick insects). This species is typically a lime green but can also occasionally be a yellow colour or rarely even a reddish-brown. They have a thorny body and legs as a defence mechanism. The females have small, non-functional wings - as is typical of a large variety of phasmids - with a light pink colour on the hind wings.
