Not all shutters are white.

Storm damage happens.

Unfortunately, outdoor blinds and strong winds don't always get along.

This outdoor blind was damaged during the recent storm, but the good news is that if you have home insurance, outdoor blinds are often covered under storm damage claims. It's always worth checking with your insurer.

If you're considering motorised outdoor blinds, we highly recommend adding a wind sensor. These clever devices can automatically raise your blinds when wind speeds become too high, helping to protect your investment when the weather turns unexpectedly.
A little extra protection now can save a lot of expense later.

Storm warning for Perth homeowners - SATURDAY TO MONDAY

With strong winds and wild weather forecast across Perth and surrounding areas, now is the time to do a quick check around your home.

A few simple steps can help prevent unnecessary damage:

• Fully close and securely latch all windows and doors
• Retract and lock your ZipScreen outdoor blinds in the UP position
• Lower and secure roller shutters where appropriate
• Bring outdoor cushions, décor, pot plants and lightweight furniture inside
• Secure umbrellas and outdoor shade products
• Check that awnings are retracted and locked away
• Make sure pets have a safe, sheltered area (if not inside)

Outdoor blinds are designed to provide shade and privacy, but during severe weather they should always be retracted (up) to help protect the fabric, tracks and components from wind damage. Failure to do this can void your warranty from the manufacturer.
