🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This is a month that holds a very special place in my heart.

As many of you know, I’ve personally experienced breast cancer, and I know just how much a diagnosis can change your world. Not only for the person going through it, but for the people who love and support them too.

This October, Malmaison will be doing a few special things to recognise Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause that is very close to my heart.

Because sometimes the simplest things matter most: a cup of tea, a conversation, checking in on a friend, and remembering to look after ourselves.

I’ll be sharing more about our plans soon, and I hope you’ll join us along the way. 🎀

And to anyone currently navigating a cancer or breast cancer diagnosis, treatment or recovery, I’m sending you so much love, kindness and strength.

I know how much this journey can ask of you, and I hope you have wonderful people around you to lean on.

I have always been drawn to textiles that feel quietly beautiful, useful and easy to live with.

Inspired by the striped grain sacks once found in rural French kitchens and farmhouses, The French Grain Stripe Edit brings that same quiet character into today’s home.

Our newest Avignon, Luberon and Aubrac pieces combine natural heavyweight cotton with denim-blue yarn-dyed stripes and a softly pre-washed finish. From cushions and aprons to tablecloths and useful striped laundry sacks, the collection carries a relaxed thread of French-inspired character from the kitchen and table to the living room and laundry.

A French cutlery story, close to our heart.

Many years ago, during a special chapter of family life in France, we visited Laguiole and watched traditional knives and cutlery being crafted by artisan couteliers and renowned French cutlery houses.

That experience stayed with us - the skill, the heritage, the quiet beauty of pieces made to be used, loved and gathered around.

Since opening Malmaison in 2003, we have proudly stocked Laguiole by Jean Dubost, a French cutlery house with more than a century of craftsmanship behind it.

We’ve shared more of this story on the Malmaison blog, from our family connection to France to the culinary beauty of Jean Dubost and the timeless pieces we continue to love today.
