Dunsborough, Busselton and surrounds. Would you be interested in an intensive weekend realism art course for adults or kids?

My name is Luke Lewis, and I run an art school in Perth.

I recently came down to Yallingup and had an amazing holiday there. While we were there, my family and I met a lovely mum who told us all about Dunsborough and how family-friendly it is.

This sparked an idea in me. I wonder if there is interest in an art class down here? Specifically for the weekends, as a short intensive course.

Here's the proposal.

Friday and Saturday afternoons till late, teaching everything I usually teach in a term, in an intensive weekend realism art workshop.

I would use local community centres, utilise local food venues and provide you all with a weekend of art worth remembering.

If this sounds like something that would pique your interest for Feb–March next year, I would love to hear your feedback.

To make this easier, if you're in this area, please put a 👍 if you are interested and comment which area you live in/would like to have this sort of event in.

Depending on the level of interest depends on whether or not I do this.

Have you been wanting to learn realistic drawing, but keep waiting for the “right time” to begin?

Adult classes at Luke’s Fine Arts are offered on very limited days—and this is currently our only adult beginner intake available.

Join Luke for a relaxed, beginner-friendly trial class where you’ll receive clear, step-by-step guidance and experience what it’s like to create a realistic drawing—even if you haven’t drawn since school.

📍 Where? Mary Davies library
📅 When? Wednesday 7th October
⏰ What time? 5:30pm–7:00pm
👥 How many people? Strictly limited to 20 adults

You don’t need experience or natural talent—just an interest in learning and a willingness to give it a go.

Because adult classes run on limited days, another suitable intake may not be available for some time. Once the available places are booked, registrations will close.

What’s it actually like being in a Luke’s Fine Arts class?

But it’s also about learning new techniques, receiving individual guidance, building confidence and creating artwork you’re genuinely proud of.

Our classes are relaxed, friendly and non-judgemental—but we’re also here to help every student make real progress.

Is your child always drawing—but needs the right guidance to develop their skills?

For the past four years, with hundreds of young artists coming through, I’ve built Luke’s Fine Arts around one goal: helping young artists grow in confidence, develop real drawing skills and feel proud of what they can create.

We now have:

🎨 Three dedicated teachers, including two with Fine Arts degrees.

Our classes aren’t simply about keeping children entertained. We teach realistic drawing through clear, step-by-step guidance, helping every student improve their proportions, shading, contrast and attention to detail.

Most importantly, my team and I genuinely care about each child’s artistic development and individual journey. Whether they’re complete beginners or already passionate about drawing, we meet them at their level and help them progress.

Frustrated that you’ve tried everything, but your drawing still isn’t improving?

I’ve spent years learning realism and working out how to break difficult techniques into simple, achievable steps. Now, I want to teach you what I know.

My adult classes in Baldivis and Coolbellup are friendly, relaxed and completely non-judgemental—but they’re also designed to help you genuinely improve.

Across 10 weeks, I’ll personally teach you how to:

✏️ Understand the foundations of realism
✏️ See contrast in a completely new way
✏️ Get your proportions right using practical techniques
✏️ Create a finished drawing you’re genuinely proud of

You don’t need any previous experience. I’ll guide you through the process step by step and help you develop your own style—not simply copy a photograph.
