Imagine having three whole hours with absolutely nothing else to do…

Except paint, cut, arrange, play, change your mind, and make something beautiful. ✂️🎨

No rushing. No multitasking. No needing to be “good at art”. Just a table full of colour and an entire afternoon to get completely absorbed in making.

Our new Paint, Cut + Play workshop is inspired by the incredible layered colour and texture of Tiff Manuell’s work. We’ll paint our own papers, cut them into hundreds of little pieces, then slowly layer and arrange them into a beautiful artwork to take home.

And yes, I find the cutting and arranging ridiculously satisfying.

Tie dye was only half the story 🌈

This week our makers took the shirts they dyed last week and gave them their own logo, designed completely around them.

Their favourite things. Their ideas. Their little marks on the world. Then they inked them up and printed them straight onto their shirts.

And my favourite bit? Some were so chuffed with what they’d made, they put them straight on and wore them home. 🥹

There’s something pretty magic about watching a kid look at something and think, “I made that. And I LOVE it.”

That’s the good stuff. ❤️

Got a little person firmly on Team More Is More? I know a place. 👀

Today our Mini Makers took cake decorating very seriously.

More colour.
More squiggles.
More sparkles.
And when you think you’ve added enough gems? Obviously, add a few more. 💎🎂

Mini Makers is our creative time for little people to paint, make, experiment and get gloriously stuck into the good stuff, without worrying about making something “perfect”.

Because at this age, I reckon more making, more mess and more creative freedom is a pretty excellent combination. 💛

Mini Makers sessions are open for bookings now. Come make with us 🎨

The adults have started something new 👀🎨

And we began with possibly my favourite instruction to give in the studio:

Don’t try to make it look good.

Just paint. Add colour. Make weird shapes. Cover things up. Change your mind. Make a mess. Keep going.

Because sometimes the hardest part of making art as a grown-up is switching off that little voice that wants everything to be good before you’ve even begun.

This one is going to build layer by layer over the next few weeks and I have a feeling they’re going to be VERY good.

But right now? We’re just playing. 💛

Wait until you see where these go.

Okayyyyy… I have been BUSY. 👀

School holidays are coming to The Colour Club and I think this might be my favourite program yet.

Big canvases. Tiny gems. Tie dye. Fashion. Monsters. Things that LIGHT UP. And some seriously excellent cardboard engineering.

I’m giving you just a tiny peek tonight because the full program drops WEDNESDAY.

And a little warning: some sessions have very limited places this holidays.

Which one did you spot that your kid would lose their mind over? 👇

Tag the parent you need to coordinate school holiday plans with.

Apparently the overalls were less of a fashion phase and more of a business plan. 😂

I found this photo of little me recently and honestly… it tracks.

The overalls.
The making things.
The absolute commitment to doing things my own way.

I definitely didn’t grow up dreaming of owning an art studio. I don’t think I ever could have imagined that this would be my job.

But I do think little me would be pretty bloody delighted to know that one day she’d get to spend her days surrounded by paint, colour, ridiculous ideas and tiny humans making wonderful things.

And, most importantly, that the overalls would make a comeback.

Some things just make sense. ❤️

We told them to STOMP ON THEIR ARTWORK. 👟🎨

And yes, there was a reason.

This week our makers built their own printing plates using foam shapes, rolled on fabric printing ink and then transferred their designs onto tote bags using a very fancy piece of studio equipment…

Their feet. 😂

Stomp. Peel. REVEAL.

Then the paint pens came out and every maker added their own colour, details and finishing touches.

Same materials.
Same process.
Not a single bag the same.

And THAT is why we don’t do “everyone make the same thing” art around here. 💛

Creativity gets so much more interesting when we give kids the tools, show them what they can do… and then get out of the way.

Would your kid love being told to stomp on their artwork? 👟👇

Kinusaiga is back this Sunday ✂️

And after seeing how beautiful everyone’s pieces turned out last time, I am VERY ready to do it all again.

This time we’re making Modern Weave. A completely new Kinusaiga design, made by layering and tucking beautiful fabrics to create your own framed artwork.

No sewing. No experience needed. And absolutely no need for everyone’s finished piece to look the same.

I’ll guide you through the whole process, you choose the fabrics that make yours yours, and you’ll leave with a finished piece ready to hang.

There are just 4 seats left for this Sunday.

Come spend a few hours making something beautiful with us 🤍

Book your seat via the link in bio.

(Ps. There’s cheese)

When the birthday kid loves cats… we make a whole lotta cats. 🐱🎨

One of my favourite parts of planning Colour Club birthdays is finding out what the birthday kid is really into, then crafting their creative activities around them.

Cats? Absolutely.
Mermaids? Yep.
K-pop? Obviously.
Something wonderfully specific that I haven’t thought of yet? Even better. 😂

And I LOVE that even when everyone starts with the same idea, we somehow end up with a table full of completely different little masterpieces.

October + November birthday party bookings are now open 🐾

If you’ve got a little maker with a birthday coming up, come celebrate it with us. 💖
