AnniebelloPaper Anniebello Paper … handmade repurposed paper goodness ... because paper still has a place in our digital world I love paper.

I love how it looks; how it feels; how versatile it is. I love how something as simple as paper has the ability to be a memorable means of communication across vast distances or even just across the road. In a world of digital everything, paper still has a place and I love it. Imperfections are part of the unique quality of a hand-made item. I love that moment when a ‘mistake’ becomes the part that changes a project from ordinary to something special. Okay, there are also those (many) times when the recycling bin is overflowing too, but who’s counting? Crafting is my escape, my way of relaxing after working hard or running around after my family. Over the years I have done sewing and needlework, painted jars and beads but nothing thrills me more than paper. I work part time in a library (yes I love books too - real paper books that is!) and have always used craft to express myself. I get a buzz from seeing (or hearing about) the pleasure someone else got when they received something I have made. I have a lovely friend who coined my nickname many years ago. When I decided to dive into having an online shop and needed a name .. well it just couldn't be anything else. In the small hours of the morning or when the creative juices are flowing, my craft room (otherwise known as a partitioned corner of the living room) looks like someone went mad with the confetti. Please don’t ask me to tidy up – I’ll never find anything again!

September is a busy birthday month for my family so I missed posting the Inspirations Craft Group September workshop. Better late than never I guess. These dragonfly key or bag charms were so easy to make and this is just a small collection. A few flew away before I had a chance to photograph them.

So, striking while the iron is hot ... and I'm at the keyboard. Here's the flock of book marks we made for the August workshop with the Inspirations Craft Group at Girrawheen Library. I'm sure we'll be adding to them over the rest of the month.
