With every sale made through our website a native tree or shrub is planted on your behalf. These plantings are legally protected from clearance for a minimum of 10 years with an estimated sequestration rate of around 1 tonne of CO2e per five plants over the life of the planting. These plants promote improved soil, air and water quality and plants provided to landholders are grown from local remnan

Suns out ☀️ and what a great time to get in the garden.

Second Nature balcony garden for Melbourne Flower & Garden Show was designed as a small, connected garden system — bringing together salvaged and recycled materials, wicking beds, water capture, productive planting and habitat for biodiversity. A garden where every element had a purpose and materials were given a second life wherever possible.

We wanted to show that even in a small balcony space, you can create something productive, water-wise and full of life — while thinking a little differently about what we build gardens from.

We spent the morning meeting with the Biodiversity Team from City of Adelaide — learning more about the work happening across the city and exploring how propagation, biodiversity and public participation can come together.

We’re thrilled to be part of a very special project for this year’s Nature Festival — The Seedling Exchange . A temporary public pavilion where visitors will be invited to plant a seed, water it and contribute to a growing shared garden.

For us, it’s really important that the planting element of this project has a bigger picture beyond the individual seedling. We’re exploring how these small acts of propagation can collectively contribute to future planting, biodiversity and greener spaces across our city — extending the life of the project well beyond the Festival.
