Ally & Me is looking for a volunteer 😇
As we all know, I absolutely loathe hand sewing, so when I get to the part of a project where hand sewing is needed… the procrastination gremlin takes hold of me 😭
So, I’m looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hand sewing, & perhaps embroidery (although that’s not necessary), to take over that part of the projects for me.
How would it work?
Once I’ve finished the crochet pieces, I’ll drop off the pieces to you for you to hand sew. Once you’ve finished them, I’ll pick them back up, do the final touches & washes before sending them off on their adventures.
All supplies will be provided, the only thing no you need is your tools (needles).
You will not get paid for this, but I can shout you out on the page for your work.
If your interested, send me a message telling me where your located & a photo of one or 2 of your projects 🙂

Tomorrow there will be a small flock of 6 tiny Sheep Pals hiding in the Picton Botanical Gardens 🐑🌱
The hunt starts at 9am, when I upload the map, highlighting where to look 👀
🌼 Don’t forget to only take 1 pal per hunt!

✨ The original pattern used: MagicCrochets- paid pattern from Etsy.
With all my creations, I slightly alter & tweak the pattern to fit my own style, so don’t be discouraged if you use the same pattern & it doesn’t turn out the same as the pals. 💕

Unfortunately, the Black Sheep won’t be joining the flock in the Picton Botanic Gardens tomorrow. 😭🐑

During the finishing process of my creations, I carefully “burn” away the tiny fuzzy fibres that naturally stick out from the yarn to give each pal a cleaner finish. Unfortunately, darker yarn can be a little stubborn, & sometimes those fluffies just won’t disappear, leaving the finished pal looking dirty, even after washing by hand😑☹️

Rather than hiding it in tomorrow’s hunt, this little sheep has been retired from adventure duty… & officially adopted by Nimbus instead. 😂🐱

I think I’m going to have to start keeping track of all the pals Nimbus ends up claiming 😂

Thank you all for being patient during my time away, I know it’s been a while but I’m getting back onto my crochet grind & preparing to start bringing joy to the community again with Hidden Pal Hunts ✨💕

“Why don’t you sell any creations?”
I get asked this quite often, so I wanted to share a little bit about why Ally & Me doesn’t operate as a business. 💕

I live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & C-PTSD, which means my physical & mental health, aswell as my energy levels can change very suddenly & sometimes without much warning. I experience crashes/episodes that can last anywhere from a few days to a few months, where even simple daily tasks can become really difficult.
At the moment, I’ve been in one for over a month, & during times like this I often can’t create at all — even the hobbies I love can become impossible to keep up with.

That’s one of the main reasons I choose not to sell my creations or take requests/orders. I never want to let people down by committing to something that my health may suddenly prevent me from finishing.

Ally & Me has always been about creating little moments of comfort, kindness, & magic without pressure, deadlines, or expectations. Keeping it this way allows me to continue creating when I’m able to, while also taking care of myself when I’m not.
Thank you for always being so kind & understanding. It truly means a lot. 💖
