Inspired and influenced by life and our surroundings,
I love being creative and crafty! I always have.

I love to make things! I started my working life as a cartographer, first drawing by hand and now by computer. Years ago, whilst travelling, I met people who had successfully made dramatic changes in their lives. It got me thinking; I realized I had always dreamed of making jewellery,
But never had the CATalyst to make the leap. Upon returning from my travels I completed silversmithing courses at

TAFE/WEA, weekend workshops and also started experimenting at home. I still make maps but have converted half our shed into a jewellery workshop. It is here where I satisfy my creative desires by making “Paws for Effect” products. My moggies are the source of my inspiration and never far from my workbench. When I finish a piece or a new design, it gives me a great feeling of accomplishment and I never regret jumping at my dream.

Back at the work bench and loving it! Getting ready for the fast approaching Christmas markets (yes, it is that time of year!!)
Today was making 'SMUKE' pendants. Time consuming but I love the whole process of hand making them!
SMUKE shape is inspired by two of our previous moggies, SMokey (a pretty face) and dUKE (the body, he was 'festively plump!').
These will be available by the end of this week, I'll be at the Narooma Markets on Sunday if you are down this way.

My first sterling silver WHALE TAIL design piece, cast out of carved cuttlebone. I'm very happy with the result and will be making more next week ready for the Christmas markets.
Each piece I cast is unique as the cuttlefish bone is destroyed in the process!

Time to get back to the jewellery bench and craft table to make PAWS FOR EFFECT products again!
