Wedgwood black jasper symmetrical design, incised covered pot, circa 1980. (Height and width 12cms)

Available direct from our website https://alanlandisantiques.com/shop/wedgwood/wedgwood-black-jasper-pot/

Jasperware, a type of stoneware pottery, was developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 18th century and known for its matte finish and classical-style relief decoration.

It’s typically made from white stoneware clay and then stained with various mineral oxides to achieve the desired colour; in this case black, with the contrasting black and white accentuating the design.

This type of decoration was only produced for a very short time, and Wedgwood black jasperware pieces are valued for their craftsmanship and historical significance.
