In revisiting this South Yarra penthouse, materiality defines the kitchen’s atmosphere.

Linished stainless steel, Avocatus quartzite and Arabescato marble come together in a palette that shifts with the day, with the stainless finish catching the afternoon sun in soft, diffused reflections. The deeper tones of grey granite and green quartzite ground the space, balancing longevity with practicality.

In revisiting this South Yarra penthouse, materiality defines the kitchen's atmosphere.

Linished stainless steel, Avocatus quartzite and Arabescato marble come together in a palette that shifts with the day, with the stainless finish catching the afternoon sun in soft, diffused reflections. At Lansell Road, Toorak, the architecture is a composition of planes, where a solid stone base allows lighter volumes to stack and cantilever above it. Bronze-toned screening wraps the upper level, with planted terraces that spill out – the building softening into greenery as it meets the street. This beautiful project is now on the market.

There's no better place to be in winter than curled into a generous sofa, it's the piece that anchors a room and draws the home together.

Specifying a sofa is as much a sculptural statement as a piece of comfort. A textured Edra lounge stretches beneath a panorama of Melbourne at Eureka Residence, while the modular curved elements of a La Chance allows for conversation at Norfolk Residence. The right armchair in the right corner brings personality and a finishing touch to a space, a sought-after spot to read or lounge while it’s grey outside.

Choosing an armchair for a reading nook is an opportunity to express something distinct, aligned to aesthetic of each home. From the inviting rose-pink petals of the Hortensia by Moooi at Clendon Residence, or a buttoned leather wingback 1919 armchair exuding elegance against dark timber panelling at Toorak Residence. While each one is unique, they create a corner warm enough to curl up in.
