Simon Fisher is a multidisciplinary artist based in Minyip, Victoria, whose work spans painting, sculpture, collage, photography, assemblage, and digital media. Born in 1955, his experiences living in Kenya, the United Kingdom, and Australia have influenced a prolific practice centred on storytelling, memory, and experimentation.

In 2025, Fisher’s major retrospective exhibition, From Red Earth and Big Sky, was presented at Horsham Regional Art Gallery, showcasing decades of creative work inspired by travel, place, and personal experience. Known for his inventive use of materials and willingness to explore new ideas, Fisher is a respected and distinctive voice within the Wimmera arts community.

I’d like to thank Wimmera Mallee Tourism for recognising the gallery as a tourist attraction in Rainbow. After 11 years of keeping it open for the community and visitors to provide something different in town and celebrate the arts, it is nice to finally have a sign either end of the main street to point visitors in the right direction.

Last year we were very proud to show works created by Amaya in her quest to raise money for Challenge who assist kids with cancer and their families. She successfully raised $2,075 from the sales of her works.
Amaya is now about to start 12 months chemo to try and shrink her brain
Tumours. Please read her story and if you are in a position to donate, Amaya, her family and I (family friend) would be forever grateful. Thankyou.

Inspired by the beautiful works of Isla Dart, our Young Creatives began the session by loosening up their drawing techniques using extension sticks, drawing with their feet, mouths, and opposite hands. From these experimental sketches, each artist selected their favourite result and began a painting using that expressive technique.

The process resulted in two very different works, each showcasing individuality, creativity, and stunning results.
