Hello, my name is Julia and I work in our local hospital as an AIN.
I originally started making fiddle mats for our elderly patients with dementia and Alzheimer's to help keep their busy hands occupied. From there I was asked to make mats for other people for family members.
Each 50cm x 50cm mat is created by me and has 16 different sensory activities and can include ribbons, fur, lace, velvet, rhinestones, beads, threading cords, buttons, zips, feathers, mirrors and more. They are backed with calico and can be machine or hand washed.
I can create personalised mats to include favourite pastimes, careers, interests, names, colours, fabrics etc.
