Happy Father Day to all the Dads out there.
As I sit back & watch the footy after a fantastic lunch of oven-baked full snapper, chips & salad, washed down by a black b**r shandy, I find my mind again wanders off to think about work.
Here’s a few things to ponder. Things that as professional turf managers we have to think deeper about.
• When you apply your ‘organics’ or ‘biostimulants’, where do you place them? On the leaf, the canopy, around the roots?
• What biostimulants do you apply? Do you know what they each are, what they each do, where they perform best, how they survive? Do you know what is in your products?
• If you apply a Kelp, do you know what variety of Kelp, what your Kelp does, why do you apply it?
• Do you apply a soil wetting agent? What type? What does it actually do? How long is it effective in the soil? Does your wetting agent interfere with the transport, mobility & more crucially the important role of biology & soil aggregate function (ie, can the biology move around uninhibited or is it being encased)?
• Have you ever wondered what effect fungicides have on soil biology?
Questions like these are a fraction of what we have to continually weigh-up. Things just don’t ‘happen’.
These are just some of things I consider when I develop our Lawnies products. I don’t develop a random ‘fertiliser’ because it’s cool. There’s 43 years of my knowledge & experience that goes into the Lawnies brand. You’re buying a lot more than just a ‘fertiliser’.
Cheers
Daz & Mitch
