SquirrelKnots

SquirrelKnots I like to make things, my main medium for creating is using yarn, mostly crochet, but I will dabble in lots of things.

I am also learning pyrography and if I feel in the mood, I will pick up a brush and paint something.

All happy puppies need a waggy tail πŸ•πŸΆ

And now the poodle has one too.

All I need now us a body to attach is all to.

I'm making my black poodle using the Buzz the German Shepherd pattern from Projectarian and furry yarn from King Cole Yarn.

So today I was hoping to get the head finished but you know how it is, life happens and gets in the way of crafting.

One of my hold ups today was eyes, I have a few different sized brown eyes to choose from and they were all either too big or too small.

The ones that were the right fit were the clear eyes .. time to paint eyes. Of course then I had to wait for them to dry properly before I could put them in the head .. so now I can finally move on with this project.

On the bright side, I love the way these eyes turned out with gold highlights in them.

What on earth could these bits be? πŸ€” All will be revealed soon πŸ˜‰

I'm still making a black fluffy Poodle using the Buzz the German Shepard pattern from Projectarian

And today I finished the 2nd paw, so at least now I know this yarn is actually a lot easier to frog than most fluffy yarns πŸ˜†πŸ˜πŸ™„πŸ˜‰

So tomorrow I hope to have 2 front paws done on the black Poodle.

Makin' a black fluffy doggo. This ain't easy but will be so soft and squishy, it will be worth it! πŸ–€β€οΈπŸ–€

First foot done and started the second today, it could take a while πŸ˜‰

I'm making him using Projectarian's Buzz the German Shepherd pattern.

The yarn is the super squishy King Cole Truffle and I'm using my 3mm hook.

This one has been on my hook for a hot minute or two! But yesterday it was finally finished.

It's going to be the cardi I take for my very first cruise next month. That's exciting, it's a crochet cruise! Truth is, the fact there's crochet involved is the only reason I signed up πŸ˜†πŸ˜˜

So back to the cardi, it's made using the pattern Caribbean Breeze Cardigan by MJ's Off the Hook Designs

I used Fiddlesticks Posie 4ply cotton and my 4mm hook.

I made a thing, whoo look at me learning something new! This one will be my new project bag, and it's more than big enough for the largest project I'll want to carry around.

I made it using a great pattern from Ellie & Mac As a nearly complete beginner I'll be honest, I found the written instructions a bit confusing at times, but it's supported by some great videos, which made this pattern perfect for a beginner.

I was a bit scared to use a thick padding in it, so went with just a medium interfacing. That means it's not as structured as it's supposed to be, but I feel more confident now so next time I'll be reaching for the stronger thicker padding.

I love this pattern and I'll definitely make more! I've already bought more patterns from Ellie and Mac. Love that they're very clear and detailed, perfect for the beginners like me.
