Over my decade+ of weddings I have worked with many, many couples who are doing it DIY, and even still, I learnt so much doing my own. Now I have a fresh batch of advice for all future clients ~

🌼 Having a marquee in Winter? Don’t put your flowers in there the day before, because they might freeze 😅🧊

🌼 Hiring plants is a totally awesome way to decorate & fill a marquee! 🪴

🌼 Craft projects will take longer than you think & leaving them to the last week is not recommended

🌼 Hire Season and Fire. Everyone will talk about the food for the rest of your days

🌼 I know it’s called do-it-yourself but for the love of sanity & all things good DO NOT do it all yourself 😆 I had plenty of help on-site & creative hands in making all the bits & pieces. I would have been a mess without them 💞

🌼 FB Marketplace is a great resource but give yourself loads of time to find the good stuff. The first thing I found was 7 months out!

I actually had the best time making, crafting, creating for our wedding. It definitely can be such a fun experience if you give yourself the time to lean into it 👏🌼
