How important is it to have the right tension?
Depends what you’re making! If you are making a garment to fit, then it’s very important.
There is one mm difference in the needles used here. Believe it or not the blue chickens are the same yarn but the big one I added a mohair as well and shifted to a 5.00 mm needle. The brown one is on 5.00 mm with just ten ply. The small blue is eight ply with 4.00 mm. Everything else was exactly the same, stitches, rows etc.
Doesn’t take long to do a tension square to get the right needles. ( I’m lazy, I usually start with a sleeve and use that as my tension square. If it’s right I’m already on my way for my garment)

Yellow…such a sunny cheery colour. The first colour to show in spring. Daffodils pop up as if to say “I’m here now winter, go away” wattle, jonquils, fresh fruit all emerging! No wonder they choose yellow for “R U OK” day. What will I make in our two weeks downtime with this yarn?
Queensland Elder is a new 8 ply yarn 100% wool, we have in stock. Great stitch definition, lots of bright cheery colours.
If you can’t get in before close of business ( Saturday 1.00 pm) we will be open again on Monday the 28th September. Meanwhile enjoy the sunshine. 🌞
