He thinks he’s knocked off for the week and is settling in for a relaxing weekend. 😂

Unfortunately, I’ve had a last-minute creative vision that involves completely redoing the outdoor area, a sh*tload of plants and approximately 48 hours of unpaid labour.

I wanted the Christmas tree up last Saturday so we could start taking festive videos. Rebecca said absolutely not. 1st of December. 🎄

We asked you guys to settle it for us and annoyingly, most of you agreed with Rebecca.

BUT, nobody said I couldn’t get festive in other ways. 😂

I’ve started decorating for Christmas and dealt with the laundry pile at the same time.

On a more serious note, we have negotiated a Nov 1st Christmas release after listening to all your advice, so stay tuned.

Okay, help us settle this debate 🎄😂

Alliera is adamant the Christmas tree goes up TODAY.

Yes. It is the beginning of October.

Her argument: why go to all that effort for a few weeks when we could enjoy it for nearly three months?

Rebecca’s response: ABSOLUTELY NOT. December 1st. Apparently putting it up this early is bad luck and she refuses to have any part in it.

So currently one of us is pulling Christmas decorations out of storage and the other is convinced we’re about to curse the entire house.

We need a ruling.

What in the Bob the Builder is happening?!

We went to film at HAAUS.6 today and quite literally couldn’t. The moths have taken over. They’re everywhere and they’ve sh*t on every single surface.

If anyone knows how to evict approximately four million moths, please help. We’d like the house back. 🫠

A hidden appliance nook is a must for us.

A little note on the mirror in this powder room.

We usually go for mirrored cabinets in our bathrooms because you can never have too much storage, but we like to recess them into the wall. You can have them sitting out from the wall, but we find it makes the room feel a bit more closed in so we prefer not to do it this way.

There wasn’t enough space in the wall framing to recess one here, so we went with a backlit mirror instead. This one also has a front light for doing makeup and with four girls in the house, that was a big win 😂

To make up for the lost cabinet storage, we went with a wall-to-wall vanity with two sets of double drawers. That gives us plenty of room for all the makeup we’d usually keep behind the mirror.

We involved this beautiful tween in the choices so the space genuinely felt like hers, while keeping the bigger pieces timeless enough to grow with her. A little personality, a little colour and plenty of room for her style to evolve.
