How to tie your ornaments with a bead ✨ I’m using a Quandong seed bead, but you can use any type of decorative bead.⁣

These are salt dough ornaments (link to our blog on making these is in our bio). You can also make ornaments out of air dry clay 👌🏽 ⁣

I’ve also seen people make them with a baking soda clay that you can make at home. Has anyone tried this?? I have once a little while ago and it turned out ok but will have to try it again 😊⁣

The pink and purple leaves in my Meeting Place artwork are inspired by my Nans Medicine Bush (emu bush) paintings 💜🩷⁣

We have a few of them around the house, and the one in these pictures is one of my favs! She was a beautiful artist 🙏🏽⁣

With her blessing, my partner and I started our Aboriginal Art business in 2017. Ochre Dough sprouted from there 🌱 How I wish she could see what we’ve created. I loved showing ideas or pieces with her and watching her brain tick over like “Hmm, what can I do with this?” 🤔😏⁣

She was cheeky. Both my grandmothers were. ⁣

And while the original design has the emu bush leaves, I also like to paint them green for gum leaves 🍃 so it’s ok if you want to do that too! ⁣

Meeting Place 🌱✨⁣

The Meeting Place is a symbol of gathering & connection. It’s where yarns happen, dreams & aspirations are realised, and community comes together 🧡🌱

Our new little Aboriginal Symbol gumnut stamps are up on the website with the option to join the waitlist 🙌🏽 I’m hoping to launch these within the next 2 weeks 🤞🏽⁣

I’m excited to start making some content with these! I think there will be many creative ways they can be used. ⁣

And best of all, something really easy to use and enjoy by younger children ☺️⁣

I was in the shed today and looked at our glitter stash and was like gee I have heaps of glitter here 😅 might as well! ⁣

But also, I’ve wanted to make a gold blend for a while ✨⁣

Light gold and gold with the shine of opals 🤍⁣

So here’s our new Sunshine blend ☀️⁣

And in the lead up to NAIDOC, it follows on with the yellow theme. The sun, giver of life ~ the way opals reveal their beautiful colours in the sunshine. ⁣

I’ll put this one up on the website soon 🤗⁣

Just a PSA for salt dough enthusiasts 🤭 ⁣

I’ll paint and decorate these ornaments once they’re dry. They’re still in the oven on a low setting. So far they’ve been in 4 hours. Still better than 4-5 days 😅🙃⁣

Oh, and make sure you flip them if you’re drying in the oven! ⁣

🫶🏽 I’ve always wanted our trays and all pieces actually, to be loved for play and for their cultural value, of course! But I also wanted to design pieces that you’d be happy and proud to display on your play shelf, not just for the cultural events or days, but all the time just because they’re beautiful 🥰⁣

Our full NAIDOC collection will be available for preorder from June 1st ✨ Preorders are scheduled to dispatch to you the week of June 22nd to ensure you receive them in time for the beginning of NAIDOC week ❤️ ⁣

This is a limited edition collection, so once it sells out, that’s it! First one like this that we have done 😊 ⁣

You can join the waitlist via the product pages and be the first to know when it goes live! Follow the link in our bio for easy access to the collection page 🌱

Here is a full look at our special NAIDOC 2026 Limited Edition Collection ~ Meeting Place 🤎⁣

I’m hoping to make the collection available in the next couple of weeks. I’m not going to do another preorder, but I will put them up on the website this week if you want to join the waitlist 😊⁣

Here’s a short reflection on the artwork & theme (you can read more in our free download) 👇🏽⁣

At the heart of our NAIDOC 2026 collection is the Meeting Place symbol.⁣

To us, 50 years of deadly is all about coming together. It’s the gathering of our people for far more than 50 years. At the campsite, around the kitchen table, at the boardroom table, and at the tables our families and ancestors made for us.⁣

It was that coming together that turned yarns, dreams, and aspirations into real change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across this country. A legacy built by strong, staunch people who created their own meeting places and made space for the next generation to carry forward.⁣
