I never wana see another poxy Allen key in my life 🤣🤣🤣 ⁣

The Ochre Dough studio/shop is coming together. I’ve realised I love creating spaces and experiences. That’s what it’s all about. ⁣

I’m that excited about having a couch in the space! 🛋️ ⁣

And my little sidekick always “helping” me 🥰⁣

Much love! X

Ochre Dough is moving to a new home 🥰 It feels like just yesterday we moved into the shed we are in now. And I’ve loved being there. It’s an incubator space for small businesses here in Shepparton. It’s given Ochre Dough space to expand 💚⁣

I am very happy and excited about our next move. ⁣

Not only because it means we have grown, but because it’s a much more practical space. ⁣

Part of what I love about business is designing systems and flows. I’m not trying to build the biggest business ever, but one that is efficient and keeps me creative and inspired. One that allows for a nice lifestyle, to spread joy creatively and for lots of community and family connection. ⁣

And it has an office! A space where you could come for a cuppa, a yarn & pick up your order if you’re in Shepp 🤩⁣

It also has a little outdoor area for spring time workshops, maybe, this is an idea I’ve been thinking about. ⁣

It’s just an overall lovely place that, hopefully, people might want to come and work one day very soon.⁣

I couldn’t have done it without you all. Thank you 🙏🏽⁣

We had this tray made back in 2022 within our business Koorie Prints ❤️ it was the first sensory play type resource we developed and it inspired everything Ochre Dough from there on 🥰⁣

It is now new & improved ✨The sections are deeper and the edges on the inside are rounded. Much better for loose parts and sensory bases. ⁣

Also featuring the Ochre Dough logo engraved on the back 🫶🏽⁣

Back in stock & get in touch if you’d like to enquire about bulk orders 😊⁣

In March, we lost our dear friend Carley Quirk from Beadie Bug Play. Suddenly and far too soon.⁣

Carley was one of those rare people who made everyone around her feel seen. She cheered on other makers, supported families with such genuine warmth and built something truly creative and beautiful in the sensory play business community she loved. She is missed everyday 💚⁣

Thursday is International Day of Play, and Friday is Carley’s birthday. It felt like the most fitting day to do something in her honour. ✨⁣

All profits from your orders on Thursday will be donated directly to Carley’s family, as a small way of giving back what she so freely gave to all of us.⁣

It’s not just us that’s involved. You can shop from these lovely small businesses who are also donating profits. ⁣

Every order helps. Every share helps. Every act of kindness continues the ripple she started. ⁣

Thank you for helping us celebrate a life that mattered so deeply to so many of us. 🐞⁣

How to tie your ornaments with a bead ✨ I’m using a Quandong seed bead, but you can use any type of decorative bead.⁣

These are salt dough ornaments (link to our blog on making these is in our bio). You can also make ornaments out of air dry clay 👌🏽 ⁣

I’ve also seen people make them with a baking soda clay that you can make at home. Has anyone tried this?? I have once a little while ago and it turned out ok but will have to try it again 😊⁣

The pink and purple leaves in my Meeting Place artwork are inspired by my Nans Medicine Bush (emu bush) paintings 💜🩷⁣

We have a few of them around the house, and the one in these pictures is one of my favs! She was a beautiful artist 🙏🏽⁣

With her blessing, my partner and I started our Aboriginal Art business in 2017. Ochre Dough sprouted from there 🌱 How I wish she could see what we’ve created. I loved showing ideas or pieces with her and watching her brain tick over like “Hmm, what can I do with this?” 🤔😏⁣

She was cheeky. Both my grandmothers were. ⁣

And while the original design has the emu bush leaves, I also like to paint them green for gum leaves 🍃 so it’s ok if you want to do that too! ⁣
