This is the beginning of a Mary Rose style thread Bobbin, the ends need to come off and a small hole will be drilled in the centre to hold needles. A stopper will complete piece.
It is made from Ash logs ( fraxinus sp) split into billets using a froe and rounded with a hatchet. I’m fairly happy with the progress so far.
