I’d like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has been a part of this crazy clay journey so far! The love and support you have all given me has been a little overwhelming, I certainly didn’t expect that my little sculptures would be this well received. Bonus thank you to my beautiful boss and her sidekick for the flowers - they’re beautiful ❤️❤️

Back to the wonky mugs!

I finally realised that the majority of the issues I was having were due to the clay I was using rather than ineptitude. These are all slab mugs, put together in a day straight from the bag, then lightly trimmed on the bottom on the kick wheel. I’m looking forward to seeing how they eventually fire, but I guess I’m going to need more red clay- to add to the million other types of clay I already have!

I should add that both my husband and I prefer the red clay mugs to the white ones, and we seem to be racing each other every morning.

Road trip!!! Best ever road trip buddy - doesn’t interrupt, is fine with my music choices, and absolutely loves to explore the towns along the way! We headed up to Campbell Town for the exhibition opening of “Textured - celebrating ceramic surfaces” at Harmony on High Street. Next time you go through Campbell town please stop by - not only is there the gallery but a whole shop full of amazing art and handmade objects (and some great art supplies). Thanks to Lee-Anne Peters for all her hard work!

Seascape

There’s something joyful about playing with mud - a chance to reconnect with our inner child. This piece is the result of working with earth through the medium of clay to produce different shapes and textures.
