I was honoured to have Don and his daughter Katie at the studio today.

Don has been wood carving since 1988 and always wanted to try carving clay — we had such a great time together!

Before leaving, I asked if I could visit his shed where he does his woodwork. His reply made me smile:
“I’ll have to check with my wife first — the shed’s at the back of our house and I want to make sure she’s happy we have a visitor.”

Such a simple yet beautiful reminder of respect and care in a partnership — values we don’t see as often these days. ❤️
