The addition of new openings between rooms creates curated sightlines that integrate a significant art collection into the daily experience of the home.

This approach enhances the spatial flow and adds a decorative language to the restored Interwar villa.

Drawing particularly on Le Corbusier’s 1931 Architectural Polychromy, the interiors combine marbled stone, brass, walnut, colour and contemporary detailing.

We are looking forward to works commencing soon at Banchory, a significant c.1928 Marcus Martin residence with a remarkable and highly intact McGlashan addition.

Our approach preserves the heritage fabric of the buildings and carefully extends the home around and beneath the McGlashan pavilion at the rear of the site.

A strong focus on sustainability has guided the design. Demolition has been minimised wherever possible, with materials from the existing buildings carefully retained and reused to reduce the environmental impact of the works.

Working closely with local council and a highly collaborative consultant team, we have navigated the complexities of this substantial heritage project, including its steep topography and flood overlay. The result will be a thoughtful transformation, complemented by a beautiful, terraced garden and pool by Fiona Brockhoff Design Fiona Brockhoff
