When you’ve gone all in on colour as I’ve done in our master, with silk sage wallpaper and tonal floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in Agave , it becomes less about adding more, and more about finding balance.

The bedside tables and lamps are doing exactly that. Breaking up the saturation and giving the eye somewhere else to ponder.

The burgundy-toned timber bedsides, finished with an upholstered drawer and copper handle, sit beautifully alongside the statement lamps - a clay shade paired with a stone base full of movement.

The master is a slow evolution. I’m not one to rush a styling choice simply to finish a space. Instead, I truly consider longevity, functionality and beauty, and choose pieces I absolutely love.

Orange and pattern have always had a hold on me.

Looking at the carpet in my family home, it feels like a snapshot of everything I love in design - bold colour, pattern, personality.

I didn’t know it at the time, but growing up in a family home renovated in the 70s, I was born in the early 80s, and being surrounded by these elements has shaped my design DNA.

My wardrobe has always been a moodboard for my interiors.

Rust. Navy. Pattern. A little leopard. A little punch.

The way I layer colour, art and texture in a room is the same way I love to dress. But I feel for a few years there, I drifted from that.

Black + white. Safe choices. Less of the bold.

Lately I’ve been bringing colour and pattern back into my outfits and it’s got me thinking…

Design isn’t about following rules.
It’s about recognising our own rhythm
…and having the confidence to return to it.

A birthday 🎈 by the beach…

Making memories.
Time slows in these moments,
not because nothing is happening,
but because everything is.

Home Hacks are back!!

Yes, it’s been a solid year since I shared one of these, but even this surprised me how well it worked, that I had to share it!

Turns out good ol’ Gumption paired with a stainless steel clean & protector spray are a match made for shiny sinks. All readily available at the supermarket.

We have just clocked over a year since we moved back home from completing a whole home reno…and when it came to cleaning the sinks, they were something I just couldn’t get right. Until I landed on this perfect combo.

My ✨shiny✨ sinks (and Home Hacks!!) are back!!

Renovation Reveal | Abby’s Bedroom 💕

One of my favourite parts of the renovation was how involved the girls were in the process. They loved choosing their paint colours for their rooms , but possibly not getting taken along to multiple tile showrooms!

Abby’s previous room was painted a deep blue called Sydney Harbour (influenced, I suspect, by the exterior colour I chose for our home). This time she knew exactly what she wanted: a dusty pink (Victoriana), paired with a double boucle bed. The upsized bed was not purely to feel grown up, it had to have pull-out drawers for doll storage. This kid is decisive.

Speaking of dolls, her latest passion project is a dollhouse renovation. And not just any dollhouse. We found a HUGE, handmade beauty on FB Marketplace over the weekend. Our summer project is another reno!

See stories for an update.

The Renovation Reveal | The Laundry

If the kitchen is the heart, then the laundry is the hub of my home. Pre-renovation, the laundry was an afterthought under the stairs, with a washer here, a dryer over there and zero bench space. So this was definitely an area that needed some serious planning.

Anyone who know me, knows that orange is my favourite colour (must be the Dutch heritage!) so when I found Copper Leaf I knew I had landed on my cabinetry colour. I paired this with a modern terrazzo from in Carmelita and 148mm aluminium handles in Terrain from .

Practical considerations were also made, such as the concealed rod for drying indoors (needed many months a year in Melbourne!). A 1m tall backsplash allowed the terrazzo to feature, whilst also ensuring wet shirts would hang without touching the benchtop.

I’m in 🧡🧡🧡

The Renovation Reveal

It dawned on me recently that it’s been almost a year since we moved back home after renovating and somehow I still haven’t shared photos of what we did!

The kitchen design started with repositioning it to where I thought it should have always belong, when we purchased the home twelve years ago. This then made it possible for our old, ineffectual laundry to become the practical pantry it was always destined to be!

The stone is a stunning Breccia Capraia sourced , with book-matched slabs to allow for consistent veining on each waterfall end. The tones in the stone were complemented with cabinetry colours Oasis and Pallido sourced .

Renovating is such a huge process and involves an endless number of decisions. It has honestly taken time for it to settle and sink in that we’re home, and to slow down enough to enjoy all the little (and big!) changes.

With my basket of styling essentials in hand, I was back creating a little magic today ✨

Styling up a home, with everything they already owned, to get it looking its best for photography.

It’s incredible what tucking away day-to-day items can do, along with ironing beds and adding fresh greenery.

Because elevating a space isn’t about adding more - it’s about seeing it differently.

Here’s to all my fellow morning people out there - now’s our time to shine. The sun is rising early and we get to embrace this beautiful part of spring. Enjoy it, as in exactly a month (5 Oct) daylight savings will kick in, the clocks will jump forward, and our early morning sunlight will become longer nights. Let’s soak in the light while we have it!
