Soft, calm and beautifully understated, this completed bathroom takes its cues from Japandi design, where simplicity, natural warmth and functionality come together.

The warm timber vanity and beautiful brushed bronze tapware bring softness to the neutral palette, while clean lines and minimal detailing keep the space feeling peaceful and uncluttered.

Pinterest vs reality. 👀
Do you love the look of floating shelves, but worried they’ll eventually start to tilt or sag?

The good news is, floating shelves aren’t your only option.
There are some beautiful alternatives that give you that same light, open feel, while offering more support and becoming a design feature in their own right.

The secret to a calm, inviting bedroom is layering. Soft neutrals, different textures, generous cushions and a cosy throw create depth without making the room feel busy.

Same bathroom. Three completely different moods.

The vanity, mirror, tapware and tile size all stay exactly the same.
What changes? Colour and pattern.

Soft and fresh, calm and understated, or rich and dramatic.

It’s amazing how changing the tile colour and wall treatment can completely transform the personality of a bathroom, without changing the overall design.

Which feels most like you, 1, 2 or 3?

I recently visited Age Veneers , a supplier of decorative timber surfaces that we specify for our interior design projects.

This supplier uses real timber veneer, a thin layer of genuine timber applied to a stable substrate. You still see the beautiful natural grain, variation and warmth of real wood, but it can be used much more practically across cabinetry and joinery.

Think kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, entertainment units, studies, shelving and custom joinery.

There are so many beautiful timbers and finishes available, which is why seeing and comparing them in person is such an important part of the design process.

Cottagecore, with a modern twist. 🌿

Crisp white cabinetry keeps this kitchen feeling fresh, while timber handles and a soft sage green splashback bring in the warmth and character.

It’s a lovely way to capture that relaxed cottage feeling without making your kitchen feel overly traditional.

Soft, simple and full of charm.

Oversized, unexpected, colourful, quirky and occasionally leaving me wondering, what exactly am I looking at? 😂

Not everything at Milan Design Week is designed to quietly blend in, and that’s exactly the point.

Design can be fun. It can be weird. It can start conversations. And sometimes, the pieces you’d never dream of choosing are the ones you remember most.

Pinterest vs real life. 👀

Those perfectly rolled towels sitting beautifully on an open bathroom shelf? Lovely in a photo but in real life, bathrooms are humid, busy spaces. Sometimes the smartest place for your clean towels is in a cupboard just outside the bathroom, keeping them fresh, dry, and still within easy reach.
