I almost can’t believe it has been 4 months since I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer! I’m proud that I’ve managed to keep smiling throughout and more grateful than I have words to express for the support of my amazing family and friends.
Treatment has been rougher than advertised, some days have been truly awful but others not so bad. I’m glad that I seem to have stabilized, although I have learnt with cancer that I should always expect plans to change. I’m beginning to feel more like myself and have some space clearing in my head to think about other things, like creative Christmas projects.
I’m sorry I haven’t been on here with any updates before now but hopefully I can start to get stuck into something creative and hope to share this with you all. I’ll probably avoid too many of these type of posts, there’s only so many ‘tissues up the nose’ pics that I think you should have to bear! But I’ll hopefully have some fun projects to start working on without the stress of actually having to program workshops - at least for now!
Thank you for all your wonderful messages, many I still need to respond to, I can’t tell you how much they have meant to me and my well being! Xo

The pack up has begun….

This was our last workshop in our beautiful warehouse space and what a way to go out! We had a room full of wonderfully creative ladies being led through the process of making their own lampshade by our friend and long time guest artist Kate Malfroy from The Lampshade Workroom

If you missed my last post - I have very sadly decided to close the workshop so I can focus on my health for the next little while. I can’t tell you how much I will miss these days!

There is no easy way to make this announcement so I’ve opted for straight to the point. I’ve decided to close the workshop in St Peters. Unfortunately I have a serious health issue that I need to address and I can’t do both at the same time.
We will be packing up over the next 3 weeks, opening on weekends to clear out supplies, furniture & just about anything else I can’t squeeze into my parent’s garage.
Please come by to farewell this lovely space that has been a beautiful retreat for so many of us over the past few years or to take your own piece of Made by Me Workshop home with you.

I would love to see as many familiar faces as possible before we bring the roller down for the last time 12th July.

I will still be around and hope the next chapter evolves from here. There is still time for all the love, thanks and farewells to be shared. For today this bombshell is enough for this very emotional chief creative officer 😢

Still looking for a Mother’s Day gift?

We’ve just listed lots of new dates for many of our favourite workshops, from candle making and soap making to embroidery, printing, sewing and more.

If your mum loves making, learning or simply taking a little time for herself, a workshop experience is such a lovely way to celebrate her. A few creative hours in our beautiful warehouse space, making something with her own hands and spending time with other lovely people.

And if you’re not quite sure which class she’d love most (or you’ve left things very last minute 😅), our gift cards are always a great option and can be used on any future class.

We’re bringing back our Monthly Makers Morning — starting next Saturday.

A few hours set aside to work on your own project, in a space that’s calm, creative and yours for the morning.

Bring whatever you’re working on — something half-finished, something new, or something you’ve been meaning to get back to.

We’ll have the tea station on and a morning tea ready.

If you’ve been before, you’ll know how lovely it feels to sit and make here.

We spent two lovely, creative days at this week making Plaster Art. This might have been one of our best workshops yet, it’s such an easy, accessible craft and just a little bit addictive. Everyone had a great time and went home with pieces they were genuinely proud to say were “Made by Me”.

Yesterday’s group of gorgeous creators showing off their beautiful Crafty Candles - they made their own marbled candle container with a lid from acrylic resin as well as the candle to go inside!

Today’s crew at our Kids Jewellery Making Workshop! This was a very creative bunch, I would be happy if I made pieces as good as theirs! Only downside -
Creative kids = Messy Kids especially when working with small parts, I think I’ll be finding beads on the floor for weeks / months to come!
