Best Buddies - Amigurumi

Bella and Osvaldo Viola, 11 and 9-year-olds, are the minds behind Best Buddies, these 2 creative and active-minded kidpreneurs started their entrepreneurial journey in 2019 with the idea to bring something fun and original they could share with their friends at school. Their idea came from their own collection of backpack charms that constantly adorn their school bags and which collection increase

s throughout the year. Being themselves proud of their keychains and backpack charms collection and seeing the interest of their friends in these ones and across school, they decided to come up with an original and fun product that could make not only be part of a school bag collection but also accompany kids through their school journey, a keychain with personality and cute enough to help kids overcome difficulties at school by being their backpack buddies that go with them everywhere. That’s how Best Buddies was born, a collection of handmade backpack keychains with a variety of fun characters that instantly connect to the child, made in bright colourful yarns and fun and cute patterns that also allow the kid to express their personality through them. Moving forward Bella with the help of mum decided to open an Etsy Shop where we share the new creations available for purchase and learn concepts such as online marketing. Important disclosure: Please understand this is the honest story behind the business however is still a family hobby business which has helped us teach our children the value of money and how to manage a business, we do this at a small scale, we don't pretend this to be our main source of income, all proceeds are put back into the business towards the building of new projects to develop the business with the sole purpose of creating new learning experiences for Bella and Osvaldo. In regards with items displayed in the store, these are hand made by an adult (mum), with the professional and skilled care that requires the delivery of a quality finished product, as long as the kids they continue being involved in many areas of the business including learning how to crochet, the release of new collections, sourcing materials, packing and fulfilling orders among others. Our next big step will be taking Best Buddies to a fete or market (which among COVID - 19 situation had been impossible at present time) we continue creating new creatures and selling online while we prepare ourselves to launch in a physical setting.
