We are setting up for the Abbie historical festival 💃🏿
It’s getting very exciting here. Lots is happening tents and activities all over the fields.

Or have Bonsai stand just outside the Japanese Tori gate site C1

We look forward to seeing you all there. It should be an absolute fun event Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 4 PM. 🪴💃🏿😃

🌿 Rosemarie’s Bougainvillea Bonsai Journey – August 2026
Bambino Maudi has taken a BIG step forward this month! 🌸

After a month of strong growth and some beautiful rich purple flowers, it was finally time to move my Bougainvillea into a proper bonsai pot.

Choosing the pot wasn't nearly as easy as I thought it would be! I had a particular metallic blue pot in mind, but after searching locally and online, I couldn't find quite what I was looking for.
Then I remembered a charcoal grey pot I'd bought about three years ago for another tree. It had been sitting in the cupboard waiting for the right bonsai and I think Bambino Maudi was exactly the tree it was waiting for. 💙

The repot was done on the very last day of August, including an approximately 60% root reduction. With the help of Keith S., President of the Bimer Bonsai Club, I was able to work through the process and get Bambino firmly secured in her new home.
Now comes the hard part... waiting! 🌱

I'm giving her time to settle, develop new roots and recover before I start feeding again.
