It is finally finished! The beautiful Nordic Bloom design by Little Green Feather was a joy to crochet (even if it took 3 months, haha).
It measures 148 x 157cm so fits the top of a Queen size bed (see photos).
The yarn used is Stylecraft Special DK in Parchment and White and is crocheted in the reverse mosaic style, so it is double thickness.

It is now for sale: $400 plus postage anywhere in Australia. Message me if you are interested!

If you are an intermediate crocheter and want to learn how to crochet overlay mosaic (including the reverse method), I am looking for expressions of interest for classes, both in person and potentially on-line, in the next few months.
If you are a confident newcomer to crochet, and can pick up a couple of basic stitches, you could also do this.

It's official!
A 3 day course, preparation of lesson plans, designing projects, handouts, journaling, feedback, teaching 5 beginner crochet students over 30 hours, forgetting to take photos and lots of procrastination but I am so happy that I did this.
It is the next step in my crochet journey.
Thank you to all those who supported and encouraged me, and a special thank you to my 5 lovely students (aka guinea pigs 😆) who were delightful, gave me great feedback and made the whole process a lot easier.

The next 'Hot off the Hook' project. I started this before Floralicious but quickly realised that trying to complete 2 major projects at the same time wasn't working, especially in summer....
This is Nordic Bloom by Little Green Feather, in Stylecraft Special DK yarn (white and parchment). I am over halfway through the body of the blanket so just a bit to go. 😬
It is also completed in the reverse stitch 👍
I am really loving this pattern. It is definitely one I will do again so hit me up with colour combinations!

After over 3 months of working in heat and humidity, the Floralicious is finally finished!
This is a stunning pattern by Ana Morais of One Skein Of Love. It was a lot more complex than it looked, mainly because of the hundreds of random dots all the way through, but I feel a great sense of achievement now that it is finished.
It is made from washable acrylic and because it is crocheted using the reverse stitch, it is double thickness.
120cm x 140cm in size, it would make a great blanket for cold winter nights that (hopefully) are coming soon.
It is now ready for sale.
$320 plus postage within Australia only.

For those playing along - here is the latest progress on my Floralicious project by . There were a few really hot days, and some custom orders, over the last 2 weeks, so I haven't progressed very far. I have just started the final 2 graphs out of 8 in total, so the end is in sight!

New beginners crochet classes will be starting at the end of February. The classes are 3 x 2 hour sessions over 3 weeks....

New beginners crochet classes will be starting at the end of February. The classes are 3 x 2 hour sessions over 3 weeks. There will be a week night class (night yet to be determined) and a Saturday morning class, located in Palmwoods.

Classes will have a maximum of 4 students, to allow for one-on-one support as required. It will include a crochet hook, stitch markers, and yarn to complete your first project.

More than halfway through the body of the blanket. It is slow going, not only because of the style of crochet, but because it has been so hot and humid!
The reverse stitch gives the blanket a very pretty back.
