So this is my first… (okay, third!! 😂) raw peridot wrap! 💚

Raw stones are a little different to work with because there are no nice smooth edges to make life easy, so it took me a couple of attempts to get a wrap I was happy with. This one finally feels right!

I’ve made this little piece in silver-plated wire while I very impatiently wait for my long-anticipated bulk order of silver-filled wire to arrive direct from ParaWire. 😬

Peridot is the birthstone for August, and I really love that this one has been left in its natural, raw form.

I’m thinking I might take this little prototype along to Cotton Tree Markets tomorrow and see what everyone thinks. 🤔

Would you wear raw peridot like this? Or do you prefer your gemstones polished?

Well, life (work work) got in the way a bit this week - a bit of making but no photographs or new online listings 😭

I did finish this gorgeous piece today, a beautiful piece of Tamworth Rhodonite that I picked up from a Gem Show a few weeks ago.

I’ve called this Rosella Song and it’s part of my Australiana Collection.
It takes its name from the rich pink and raspberry tones of the stone, reminiscent of one of Australia’s most colourful birds — with a little nod to Tamworth’s famous connection to music in the name too. ❤️🎶

I can’t wait to oxidize this, it will be so gorgeous polished back with the detail in the weave highlighted!

I received a delivery of raw stones yesterday. I ordered peridot but was gifted a little selection as well!

I haven’t wrapped raw and irregular stones like this before so it will be something a bit different! Maybe once I’ve mastered these, I’ll finally wrap the Herkimer Diamonds I’ve been hoarding 🤣

This pretty little piece made with Larimar is heading off to its new home today.

With those beautiful Caribbean blues, Larimar always feels like a tiny piece of the ocean you can carry with you.

Things that happen when you buy too many gemstones…

Went looking through my bag today and found a completely unmarked little paper bag.

Inside? Two green cabochons. 😂

Do I remember buying them?
Vaguely -Gem show a couple of weeks ago!

Do I know which stall they came from?
Nope.

Do I know what I paid for them?
Absolutely not. 🤣

Do I think they’re jade/nephrite from the gem show?
Yes.

Did I apparently buy them and then completely forget they existed?

Also yes.

So apparently today’s new-stock delivery came courtesy of Past Me, who has excellent taste in rocks but absolutely terrible inventory control. 😂

Now I just need to decide what to make with them…

Labradorite was definitely having a moment at yesterday’s market! 💙✨

Several of my blue-flash labradorite pieces found new homes, including one of my little Keepsake pendants. One lovely lady spotted it, went away to have a think… and by the time she came back, someone else had snapped it up! She was so disappointed to have missed it and asked if I had any others than I could bring to next week’s market!

So I’ve taken the hint. 😂

I’m restocking the blue labradorite, starting with these two little Keepsake pendants fresh from the bench today.

There’s something about that electric blue flash that is very hard to walk past. 💙

It was another lovely morning at the market yesterday, with quite a few pieces heading off to new homes — including some of my keepsakes pendants, which were definitely popular this week!

These are just a few of the gorgeous pieces that were claimed!

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by, had a chat, tried things on and supported my little handmade business. I really do love seeing which pieces people are drawn to.

Of course, all those empty spaces now mean I have an excuse to get back to the bench and make some more. 😂
