With some of my paintings, I trace the outline to speed up the process, however it's difficult to paint in various mediums. I will use this method for some 🐶 portraits that seek a more realistic style. Although I like to enlarge a photo by hand, it takes longer and is more difficult, therefore more costly. It's a short cut method to trace, but just as much patience and care is taken for the end piece. All works are carefully scrutinized by my own creative criticism. I'll show you the first stage of a freehand artistic impression - a great deal of work to go before completion. This is a loose freehand expression style in the first pass or layer with many more layers to go.

This painting by Phoebe McMurtrie was created, I believe, in Sippy Downs when she was approximately 7 years old, or maybe earlier at our little worker's cottage in Melbourne at a younger age in our art space. I found it tucked behind another painting. I'm not sure if I showed her the photo of the 'Kiri Lee', but it's a true resemblance with an albatross flying past. It is now prominently featured in my living space, where I can see it. I love those days of practicing art with the children, my taught skills providing a free expressive space. I have always loved art, with posters of Salvador Dali and others like him at age 15, and had a strong interest in other artists 🧑‍🎨. I completed many forms of creative studies, proceeding to visual communications at age 16 and university entrance and portfolio preparation at the University of Canberra at age 24. Graduating from Interior Design and Building Design in 2012. In recent times, I picked up the brushes with Art Therapy and continued with Art School Co., helping me to hone my skills in realism. Good morning from Art Hive 25 🙏. I began my artists journey as a child and became, a fully qualified designer now returning to my most loved form of art. I'm freeing my style from digital creation to a more free, spiritual style. Enjoy the journey as I begin with realism as a foundation for contemporary art. I’m refreshing old skills and trying to produce beautiful expressions of loved pets and things in nature. This is a boutique business at the very beginning of a long journey of learning and growing together. This is my art space with works covering the walls not only of my work, but the work of those who are important to me. I work mostly in the dining room, but I carry my work on a board and spread out in the lounge room, my most rested space.
