The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience with exposure across all stages of a project. Registration is not required, but strong design skills and attention to detail are essential. Vectorworks experience is preferred, though not required.

We’re pleased to share the Avalon Tennis Pavilion — an entertainment pavilion set within the beautiful surrounds of Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The design is defined by contrast and clarity: a grounded lower level anchored in textured limestone, and a luminous upper pavilion that floats above, crowned by a radiant copper ceiling. The result is a serene yet sculptural gathering space — both open and sheltered — tailored for coastal living.

Our thanks to the client for their vision, and to our collaborators whose work helped shape the outcome.

Barrenjoey House - Master ensuite concept. ⁠
⁠
⁠Situated deep into the plan of the dwelling, the master ensuite is entombed in limestone slab wall & floor cladding. An adjacent sunken courtyard punctuates the deep external wall and floods the space with natural light.⁠
⁠
Glimpses of the surrounding canopy engage the ensuite with the context- nestled into the hillside. The freestanding hewn limestone bath pairs with the linear vanity to form a robust language, softened by the curves of the tub.⁠

A harbour front property with iconic Harbour Bridge views. This existing four storey house was stripped back to its concrete structure, remodelled and refurbished. The planning was simplified and a new circulation spine, with circular lift and stair, added and extended to the upper arrival level to the house. ⁠

Barrenjoey House - Library and Wine Cellar.⁠
⁠
The reading nook tucked behind the dwelling’s fireplace offers a peaceful secondary living space, from which to enjoy the view out over the Pittwater & the evening sunset over the national park beyond.⁠

To the rear lies the wine cellar, with glazed, dark bronze cabinetry forming a feature display. A backdrop of timber cabinetry & wall cladding defines the differing programme of the space.⁠

Once a vacant site located on the slopes of Mosman above Chinaman’s Beach, Mosman House is built with generous proportions that give way to streams of natural light.⁠

Mathieson understands that luxury doesn’t need to be obtrusive. The practice strives for the seamless incorporation of elements such as natural light, elegant proportions, subtle amenities, and unique materials, which culminate in timeless design outcomes.⁠
