Bondi Residence.
Nested within a building complex with heritage ties to Sydney’s very first casino building, the design intent for this internal renovation was to purposefully create a connection between the buildings heritage, and the clients desire for an industrialised design approach.
The use of chevron flooring and rusted brick cladding to walls is cleverly supported by the use of exposed steel universal-beams, that provide for much-needed storage and shelving space to an already intimate footprint. The steel UB’s have been carefully anodised and integrated with lighting to elevate the industrial and heritage aspects of the building, and the introduction of cast-iron doors and windows have been selected to support the design intent, whilst providing practical planning solutions through the use of glass dividers between the private and semi-private areas.
