AI has changed the game for interior design.

But there’s one thing it still can’t do.

Clients are arriving with incredibly polished AI images, asking us to recreate the feeling they see in them.

The light. The softness. The palette. The proportions.

But an AI image doesn’t have to work in a real house.

It doesn’t have to navigate structure, circulation, joinery, budget, lead times or the 100 tiny decisions that make a space actually live well.

AI can give you the vision.

The designer’s job is turning that vision into reality.

And that’s where the real work begins.

At our very first client meeting, we knew we needed to be deliberate about the kitchen stone.

Choosing it too late could have meant replacing it altogether, adding thousands to the budget.

It’s why I love being involved during the build, not just at the start and end. The small decisions made early are often the ones that have the biggest impact.

Pinterest is a great place to start a renovation. But it can only show you so much.

A saved image might give you the look you love, but it can’t tell you how those materials will feel together, whether the floor plan will actually suit the way you live, or which decisions need to be made early so you don’t limit your options later.

It also won’t tell you where it’s worth investing, how a finish will perform over time, whether the proportions will work in your actual space, or how natural and artificial light will change the way everything looks throughout the day.

That’s the part of the design process that happens beyond the inspiration board. Turning an aesthetic into a home that feels considered, functional and right for you. That’s what we do.

Coastal design doesn’t have to announce itself.

At Ettalong, the water views were already doing the heavy lifting, so instead of leaning into obvious coastal cues, we let the landscape outside shape the material palette within.

Warm timber, natural stone, brushed nickel, soft curves and a restrained neutral base all work together without competing with the view.

The result feels coastal because of its location, how the light moves through it, and how the materials respond to that setting. Not because it follows a theme.

And because this was a development, that restraint mattered commercially too. A material-led interior has longevity, broader appeal and is far less likely to date. Timeless, not trendy.

A bridal store doesn’t have to be ivory.

For Aura Bridal, the brief was to move away from the expected and create something with depth, warmth and a little drama.

The deep rust curtain dressing room became the standout piece for a reason. Unexpected in a bridal space, but designed to let the gowns feel even more special against it.

Sometimes the best way to design for a category is to challenge what it’s supposed to look like.
