Newtown Neighbourhood Centre 🏡 From housing support to community connection, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre is here for people doing it tough.

Together, we’re building a fairer, more inclusive Inner West. 💛 Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) aims to build an inclusive, resilient, self-reliant and creative community. The Centre provides community support services to the local community and in particular the disadvantaged groups such as the aged, people with disabilities, people who are homeless, people with mental illness, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people on low incomes.

Getting older is better together 👵🏼💞 A study published this year found that 1 in 6 Australians over 65 experience loneliness. This winter, that number sits with us.

At Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, we see what connection actually does, and what the absence of it looks like ❤️‍🩹

Over the past two years alone, our Aged Services team has delivered more than 32,000 hours of group support across the Inner West. From our Greek, Portuguese and Former Yugoslavia seniors groups, to our Social Connect Group (co-run with NSW Health) and Generation Connect with Newtown High School of Performing Arts - there's something for everyone, and a reason to show up every week.

Winter can be a lonely time. These groups are a lifeline.

Winter sunshine? In Newtown? Yes, and we know exactly where to find it ☀️ The 's leafy courtyard is genuinely one of the Inner West's best kept winter secrets, cold drink in hand, sun on your face, good food on the way.

But beyond the vibe (which is immaculate), The Courthouse Hotel has been one of NNC's most loyal Newtopian Champions, showing up for our community in ways that go far beyond the bar tab 💞

This is our Kindness Kiosk 💛 A little cabinet with a big heart, sitting right here at Darley Street and available to anyone in our community who needs it.

If you've got a few items to spare, we'd love your help keeping it stocked this winter. We're currently accepting donations of:

🥫 Canned food & vegetables
🍪 Biscuits, muesli bars & crackers
🍜 Cup noodles & snacks
🧴 Deodorant, soap & toothpaste
🦟 Mosquito repellent
🧥 Sleeping bags, swags & raincoats

Please note we're unable to accept perishable items, fresh food, opened or out of date products, or used clothing. Donations are accepted during Drop-In Hub hours:
🕙 Mon, Wed, Thurs & Fri — 10am to 4pm
🕙 Tue — 10am to 1pm

Winter's here, and so are we 🏡 Our Drop-In Hub is open weekdays from 10am, and this time of year it matters more than ever! 🌨️

Whether you need help navigating housing, a referral to the right service, access to food relief, or just somewhere warm to sit and have a chat, you're always welcome here. No appointment needed.

In 2024, we supported 2,013 people through the Hub. Every single one of them just walked through the door.

We recently carved out a special moment to celebrate the people who make NNC what it is 🧡

We gathered over 18 of our incredible volunteers right here at Darley Street for a dinner to celebrate Volunteer Week, and honestly, the room was full of the best kind of energy ✨ The people in these photos give their time, their skills and their hearts to NNC week in, week out, and our community is stronger for it.

To every volunteer who showed up, and every one who shows up for us every single day - this one’s for you! We see you, we appreciate you, and we genuinely could not do this without you.
