We have just one space available for Jane Nicholas' next workshop at Stitch.
Held over two days, Sunday 25th October plus Sunday 1st November 10am to 4pm both days.
Jane will be teaching her beautiful Copper Shield Bug gold work sampler.
Deposit to book is $120
Balance payable on first class day is $120
Plus materials.
This workshop is suitable for experienced stitchers with solid embroidery skills.
(Not suitable for beginners).

We have just scheduled a new class @ Stitch to make a gorgeous Prairie Schooler Santa ornament. Sunday 29th November.
This is a one day class suitable for learner or experienced cross stitchers.
Finishing at 10cm x 13cm these lovely cross stitch Santas are stitched on 18 count Floba fabric using DMC stranded cotton.
There is a whole collection of designs to choose from! A new Santa is released every year. Once you've stitched one you will want to collect a whole set.
Deposit to book is $50 and balance payable at class is $100.
As well as tuition the price includes Floba fabric cut to size, cross stitch chart, needle & threads.

I've just finished knitting this gorgeous Sophie scarf using Chaska Muhu DK alpaca yarn plus Pacific Lace 2 ply mohair yarn. I used one ball of each and knitted with 6.5mm needles, the two yarns are knitted together.
The Clover row counter is a useful tool to keep track of where you are in the pattern.
This is a very quick and easy knit, the pattern is by Petiteknit and is available on Ravelry. I'm very happy with the result!

This week we are featuring "Betty's Vase" by The Tapestry Label.
It's a beginner friendly needlepoint kit containing printed canvas, DMC wool threads, a needle & instruction leaflet.
A perfect introduction to needlepoint for those who are keen to try this type of stitching.
At 15cm x 15cm this design is quick to stitch and looks gorgeous in a small frame when you're finished the stitching.

We love these pretty pastel heart shaped needle minders! They've just arrived in to Stitch. Perfect for holding your needle safely while pausing or re threading.

Our students worked hard at the Hedebo class @ Stitch last Sunday with Embroidery Guild tutor Michelle Hudson. Day 2 is in a few weeks (we have some homework to do!).
We commissioned the Hedebo sticks, made from solid oak, from a local artisan wood turner.
Essential for this form of embroidery, & so hard to find!
We have a few left in stock, so if you are interested to try this technique you will need one.

Our newest yarn has just arrived into Stitch.
Pacific Lace is a beautiful 2 ply mohair & silk yarn with 200m per ball.
The colours are just delicious. Like little clouds of fairy floss!
You can knit it alone (2 strands is lovely) or combine it with any other 4 ply or 8 ply wool.
We have some lovely patterns for a wrap, a cardigan & a turtle neck sweater.
I knitted the "Sophie scarf" by PetiteKnit (pattern available from Ravelry) with just one ball of the seaweed colour, using 2 strands & 3.75mm needles.
