“I Style My Survival”
by Carol Assaf
I don’t just survive—
I bloom in the ashes,
I drape pain in linen,
Turn chaos into flashes
of beauty and soul,
of funk and grace—
a walking gallery,
a sacred space.
I’ve danced with loss
and wept with the moon,
but always returned
with a new kind of tune.
Each scar, a stitch.
Each ache, a thread.
I wear my truth—
not run, but spread.
Through grief and light,
through joy and trial,
I don’t just survive—
I style my survival. 🤎
