Our design for the Transport Management Centre (TMC), was inspired by the concept of a sanctuary. The team created a material palette that is earthy and natural, supporting the expansive, light-filled spaces of the TMC. The layering of calm tones and the creation of quiet spaces achieves a balance between connection and focus, and helps to support shift teams working around-the-clock.

Designed as the state’s central command for safe, connected movement, has revamped their Transport Management Centre (TMC) at Eveleigh to support NSW’s complex road, rail, bus, ferry, and metro networks. Uniting technology and teamwork, it features one of the largest screens in Australia - a 23 metre operations screen that makes real-time coordination and rapid incident response possible every day.

The brief centred around optimising visibility of this integral screen for key operational roles, while reshaping circulation for agile movement and efficient collaboration. The reconfigured floor plan we enables access to key operational zones and amenities, and is enriched by natural materials and biophilic elements.

One of the most exciting parts of our projects is when materials, colours and finishes are locked in and everything begins to come together.

We build materials boards to bring the palette into one place and clearly communicate the design direction with our clients. Presented alongside 3D visualisations, they help connect the digital concept with the physical materials that will shape the workplace. And while renders are great, there is still nothing like seeing samples in person – being able to touch, compare and experience the tactile qualities of your space before it’s built.

A day in the life of an intern at means being a part of the team, not just observing from the sidelines. Our interns work with our project teams, jump into reviews, and experience how ideas move from sketch to site across real workplace design projects.

Molly Burke () reminds us why inclusive wayfinding matters. Every person deserves the confidence to navigate public spaces independently, and tactile and braille maps are a game changer for accessible environments.

In our own Signage projects, we consider accessibility at every stage, including designing custom braille and tactile maps for full workplace floors and amenities - such as the one seen in this video - putting universal access front and centre.

Thank you, Molly, for highlighting how thoughtful design makes everyday moments easier and more empowering for all.

Recently, we were in Brisbane for an on-site review of the interiors and signage installation at Toyota Motor Corporation Australia’s (TMCA) Parts Centre QLD. We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes of their new warehouse and workplace is taking shape as construction progresses.

Over the past 12 months, our team has been working to deliver a facility that streamlines operations and supports every aspect of their business. The new environment will combine tailored workspaces with integrated warehouse capabilities, designed to enhance efficiency and foster wellbeing.

It’s rewarding to see the vision come alive on site, with each step reflecting our commitment to building a workplace that will support TMCA’s people and broader operations across Australia.

As we near completion, we want to say a big thank you to our brilliant project team, led by .
