結晶之花導師 What is Pastel Nagomi Art?

Pastel Nagomi Art is a form of healing art founded by Mr. Hosoya Norikatsu (細谷典克先生), which uses powdered pastels to create a colourful, soft and heart-warming art through simple yet unique ways of painting techniques. The word Nagomi (なごみ) means harmony and hope. There is no right or wrong way or any drawing rules. Anyone can create the drawing with great sense of satisfaction. Recently, I completed the certificate courses for "Flower of Crystal Art." This program encompasses a blend of techniques, including color selection, utilizing various types of erasers, and arranging intricate beauty patterns. Engaging in these activities demands intense concentration, leading me to a state of mindfulness. Drawing these artworks is not only genuinely relaxing and enjoyable but also deeply fulfilling. I'm immensely grateful to Rumi Sensei for your stunning artwork designs and exceptional teaching. I absolutely adore it!

During my recent visit to a university classmate in another state of Australia, we reconnected after many years and had wonderful conversations. I was captivated by the beautiful bouquet of flowers adorning her dining table, all freshly picked from her backyard. Among them, the calla lily stood out, with its simple and elegant style capturing my attention. This experience further fuels my passion for learning to draw Calla lilies from Chiemi Sensei. I'm truly enchanted by its beauty and grace.

早前穿州過省，到澳洲的另一邊和一位舊同學見面，大家多年不見，坐在一起就有無限的話題；看到朋友的飯桌上擺放著一束漂亮的鮮花，全部都是從她的後花園採回來的，而我最喜愛的，就是花束中一枝獨秀的馬蹄蘭，喜歡它簡單而高貴的形態，十分好看。就是因為喜愛，所以最近也跟成井知惠美老師學習畫了一幅以馬蹄蘭為主題的作品。

Happy Birthday to my VIP! I made this cake topper for him.

I have been preoccupied with various family matters, both trivial and challenging, for an extended period, leaving myself mentally exhausted. As I gaze upon the artwork I learnt from Taku Sensei last month, I imagine myself as the young girl in the picture, sharing joyful moments under the stars with my dad. Even in the cold weather, the idea of going to the rainbow cafe nearby sounds delightful. There, I can indulge in a steaming cup of hot chocolate and embrace the simplicity of happiness, cherishing the bliss of a carefree existence.

這陣子一直忙於處理䌓瑣和棘手的家事，心很累；望著上個月跟Taku老師學的畫作，好想逃避現實，化身畫裡的小妹妹，跟爸爸一起去看星星，談天說地，如果天氣冷了，又可以走進附近的彩虹咖啡店，來一杯熱朱古力，做一個開心簡單的女孩。

「龍の住処」是Taku老師的作品，這一幅畫作描繪了一個神奇的場景，那是龍的家園。當中看到巨龍在一片幽靜的山谷湖泊上，靜靜地在守護著大地。在湖泊中央，還有一棵能量之樹，展現了巨龍的神秘與力量，好一個奇幻世界。

「龍の住処」(Home of Dragon) is a creation by Taku Sensei, depicting a magical scene that represents the dragon’s paradise . In this artwork, you can observe the giant dragon peacefully guarding the land above a tranquil valley and lake. At the center of the lake stands an energy tree, showcasing the dragon's mysteries and power, creating a truly fantastical world.

上星期跟成井知惠美老師學了這幅可愛的 Happy Whale，好喜歡當中的構圖。

其實在畫這幅畫的時候，一直想著早前在香港被一班無知的野蠻人害死的布氏鯨，但願鯨魚現在能夠於海中自由自在地暢泳，不再受到無謂的滋擾🙏🏻

也因為喜歡這幅作品，嘗試用了兩種不同的畫紙去畫，第一張所用的畫紙購自香港某手作店不明產地的畫紙，第二張則用了日本的 Sketchbook by DRAPAS，兩幅畫除了天空用了不同的色系，其餘的用色都是一樣，比較下可見到用不同的畫紙，粉彩上色的程度也不一樣啊！

I learned this adorable Happy Whale from Chiemi Sensei last week. I love this artwork so much.

When painting this artwork, I couldn't help thinking of the whale, which was killed by a group of barbarians earlier in Hong Kong. Praying that whale can now swim freely in the ocean without unnecessary disturbances 🙏🏻

Because I love this artwork, I tried using two different types of paper for it. The first one was drawing paper from unknown origin purchased from a handcrafted store in Hong Kong, while the second one used was Sketchbook by DRAPAS from Japan. Apart from using different color schemes for the sky, the rest of the colors are the same. When compared, it’s easy to found that using different types of paper also affects the outcome of pastel colors.

Thanks Taku Sensei for leading us to go stargazing with the lovely white dolphin. I had the most enjoyable time for over an hour. It’s so comforting to see the finished artwork.

感謝土田拓美老師帶領我們與可愛的白海豚一起觀看燦爛夜空的星星，過了愉快的個多小時，看著畫作的感覺好療癒。
