One of the most special prayers I remember Mum teaching me is “The Magnificat”, or “The Canticle to Mary”. It always brought her great peace and comfort throughout her life. Mum never lost her faith; and in her most difficult moments I witnessed her great love for Our Lord. She never faulted, she believed even to the end.
How lucky was I to have her in my life and for her to teach me so much. A woman of great faith, courage and love.
Catholics dedicate the month of May to Our Lady and great mother Mary. What a blessing that Mum should be taken to Our Father during such a special time.
Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising
Fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array.
My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my saviour,
for he hath regarded the humility of his hand maid
for behold all henth forth shall call me blessed
for he that is mighty had done great things for me and holy is his name and his mercy is from generation to generation to them that fear him.
He has shown might in his arm and had scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart,
he has cast the mighty from their thrones and exalted the humble.
he had filled the hungry with good things and the rich he sent empty away
He has received Israel his servant mindful of his mercy as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his seed forever
glory be to the father, and to the son and to the holy spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end, amen.
Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising
Fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array.
oh Mary conceived with out sin, pray for us who has recorsed to thee
