Winter always makes me homesick.

Production season is about to kick into full gear, and maybe the best thing is to bury myself in work and not feel it all quite so much.

May the cold pass quickly, the days get longer, and the time to see you all again come soon.

I guess that’s what happens when you’re a little bit from here and a little bit from there… you’re always missing somewhere. 🤍

PEBBLES

Same hands. Same process. Same glazes.

The only thing that changed was the clay… and the result? Cracks everywhere.

About 90% of this batch ended up failing, and honestly, I still don’t fully understand why. It’s incredible how changing just one material can completely change the outcome.

That’s the reality of ceramics. Every clay behaves differently, and sometimes the only way to find out is through trial and error.

Safe to say I won’t be working with this clay again.

The hardest clay I’ve ever worked with.

I won’t name the brand because everyone has their favourite clay, and what doesn’t work for me might work beautifully for someone else.

But this was, without a doubt, the most challenging clay I’ve ever used. I ended up with cracks in more than 50% of the batch, and many pieces were completely ruined.

Honestly, I’m almost certain it wasn’t the clay itself—it was the way I was working with it. Every clay has its own personality, and this one clearly needed a different approach.

I even returned the remaining blocks I had bought to experiment with. As much as I love learning new materials, right now I just don’t have the time to go through the trial-and-error it would take to understand this one.

Maybe one day we’ll meet again. 😅

Back to my Torino Dinner Set, now with a new addition that has me completely hooked.

This is only my second time making mugs, and now that I have molds for them, the whole process has become so much more enjoyable (and a little less challenging!).

I’ll be sharing more soon. Honestly, I have so many exciting projects happening at the same time that I haven’t had as much time to simply play and create freely.

But I’m absolutely loving these new mugs, and I can’t wait to show you what’s coming.

This is my favourite way to glaze. For me, nothing compares to the finish you get from good brush control.

Every layer is intentional, every brushstroke matters, and that control creates depth, movement, and a truly handmade finish. It’s slower, but for me, it’s worth every minute.

The raw stage has a beauty of its own.
UNFOLD has become one of the most satisfying collections to make. Watching each form come together, unfold naturally, and reveal its sculptural character before glazing is a reminder of why I love working with clay.
Judging by your response, you loved this collection just as much as I did. So yes... another batch is definitely on its way.
Thank you for making this collection such a special one.
