One stone. The whole house. On purpose.

The ground floor is where this family gathers, so the design brief demanded a highly functional environment that could handle the heat and still maintain an unbothered, calm aesthetic.

We held the material palette to a single, hard-wearing quartzite slab and custom joinery that eliminates all visual clutter. We added handmade Moroccan tiles so the texture reads like it has always been there, while reinstating the original Victorian plasterwork with a contemporary lens. Plus a new archway that nods to the period without becoming a museum piece.

This project proves why we prioritise clarity before creativity. By mapping the spatial engineering backwards from daily routines, we ensure the high-traffic zones of your home feel entirely seamless.

Most people would have left it as storage, but we started here on purpose.

The clients are health-focused, wellness-oriented homebodies who were about to become a family of three during this project. Every design decision had to account for who they were now and who they would be in two years, so before a single tile was laid, we worked backwards from how they actually wanted to live.

We turned a dark, unused storeroom into a premium wellness floor, tucking an infrared sauna into a redirected stair landing return alongside a dedicated bathroom and laundry space. The basement now earns its floor plate.

This is floor one of a five-storey climb up a 135-year-old Potts Point terrace. By engineering the infrastructure of the home first, we replaced the standard renovation chaos with absolute certainty.

Our Potts Point terrace is complete. Roll the track. 🎬

135 years old. Five storeys. When we started, it was a commercial shell with two original features left - it hadn’t been a home in two decades.

We brought it back. Not as a period set piece, but as a home for a young family - planned vertically, getting more private as it rises: a wellness floor at the base, a library at the very top. The past is present here. It’s just not in charge.

We rebranded.
Here’s the honest reason why.

Convict Interiors started as a passion project, my own cottage, a name, a DIY identity. But the work outgrew the brand.

The projects got bigger. The stakes got higher. And the old brand stopped matching what we actually deliver: process-led, tech-first, builder-ready renovations for people who want a beautiful home without the chaos.

The thing that’s never changed is how we work. Most projects start with a mood board. We start with a question - how do you actually want to live? Then we engineer the home backwards from that end goal.

That’s The Convict Method.

EP5: Level 5 library, study + third living.

We took a nothing attic level and gave it a second life.

Now: A skyline office. A reading room. A place to exhale.
Dual WFH stations built in. CBD views baked in. Opera House and Harbour Bridge doing the rest.

Natural light all day. Informal enough to chill. Considered enough to work.
