The 2026 Melbourne Knife Show is looking to be a great event showcasing the work of members of the Australian Knifemakers Guild. Dedicated to preserving, developing and promoting the art of knifemaking, the show is set to featuring some of the top custom makers in the country.

Jackson Rumble of has been making knives since 2008, in that time refining his craft, teaching classes and inspiring other makers. In 2023 Jackson obtained his ABS Mastersmith Smith accreditation, also winning the BR Hughes Award for the best submitted knives from all applicants that year. Jackson's knives have a reputation for clean lines, stunning damascus in random, mosaics and feather patterns and flawless fit and finish. From high end chef's knives, showpiece daggers and functional hunters, we're definitely looking forward to seeing what Jackson brings to this year's Show.

DB Blades is built on a simple idea. Make the best knives we possibly can. Established in 2011 as a hobby, it has grown into a full-time pursuit, obsessed with doing things properly. Better grinds, better finishes, better knives. Today, it’s still just two brothers, Dom & Toby Binkert in the workshop, chasing that same goal. Every knife is made with intent, with attention to detail, and with the mindset that it needs to perform in the real world. not just look good on a shelf.

Mounted to a cutting board (not included) but needs to be mounted to a solid bench.

Pics show 3.5mm vegetan leather and 4x vegetan that I just stitched

Comes threaded and includes stitch from Tandy leather

Box included and can be couriered but is very heavy so pickup preferred

One six zero zero pickup - courier can be arranged at extra cost

Tension setting are as from factory and it’s had minimal use (just test stitches for fun)

These are my new sheathes, the traditional style and dangler version. Australian leather, hand stitched. I’m very pleased to be able to offer these with my future bushcraft knife purchases.

I’ve spent the last 3-4 months working on sheath development. Trying different designs and finishes. I think I have my bushcrafter sheath finished at it’s 14th version. Improving processes takes time, money and effort but it’s worth it

Well my weekend with was just awesome. Look at this beauty. San mai blade with 416 stainless guard, marbled carbon fiber spacer and African black wood. I killed my blade on the second day (and it was looking so nice....), so after Kev donated his teaching blade I finished it off and we decided to call this a collaboration :) We had highs, we had lows but more than anything we had a great time and many, many laughs. Thank you Kev for sharing your workshop and knowledge. I could not have made this without your guidance but in time some day I will. Seeing what an experienced maker can do is truly inspiring and encouraging. It was also my first chance to play with the tapered tang tool which I'll really enjoy having in my workshop. It was simply, my best knifemaking experience to date. I'm exhausted and elated and I expect I'll be laughing about this for days to come :D
