As National Reconciliation Week comes to a close, we’re proud to share the beautiful artwork created for Tamworth Pride Inc by the talented Tess Reading from Art Without Fear.

This piece tells the story of our network as a vibrant web of connection across the region. The flowing lines represent pathways of support, while the organic shapes reflect the diversity of people, identities, and communities that come together through Tamworth Pride. Against a dark background, the bright colours shine as a celebration of pride, visibility, inclusion, and the strength that comes from belonging.

A huge thank you to Tess for bringing this vision to life and creating an artwork that so beautifully captures the heart of our community.

As we reflect on the meaning of National Reconciliation Week, we acknowledge the importance of connection, understanding, and walking together toward a more inclusive future for all.

This piece tells the story of moving through distress with the strength of community, culture and connection close by.

At the base sits the individual, with layers rising upward to represent family, community, culture and support services walking alongside them. The flowing movement reflects that healing is not always linear, but recovery is possible when no one has to walk alone.

I’m so honoured to be a part of a creative collective of incredible regional women.

Formed a few years ago, this group began with a unique vision, transforming store mannequins into works of art for a travelling exhibition across the North West region. Since then, it has grown into so much more, opening doors to new exhibitions, opportunities, and meaningful connections.

Each artist brings a wealth of knowledge, talent, and individuality to the collective, making it something truly special.

Please follow along as we head into our next exhibition, “Roadtrip!” opening next Friday at The Civic, Gunnedah, before touring the region throughout the year.
